    Licking it wouldn't be the best idea, but I don't think it would harm you at all, really. Long term effects really only harm you if you are exposed to it often. It is not very toxic if ingested, and can easily be removed from the bloodstream during urination.

    Bismuth is used in some alloys, most notably bismuth bronze. It is also used in lesser known alloys.
