Super Smash Bros. 4 Forum Tournament

Many Smashers on this forum have been asking for a Sm4sh tournament, so here it is! There are a few things to note; These tournaments will happen about every 3 weeks (If you want it to be longer, I might have to make a new thread for each tournament, tell me what you want down below), and I will not participate in any of these tournaments on here. There will be a different bracket for both Wii U and 3DS versions of the game, seeing as some people here only have one version. You ARE allowed to sign up for both brackets.

These tournaments will determine who is the 2nd best - worst players here on the forums. I will be doing these tournaments once every 3 weeks or so to keep the player tier list more updated. We will be using the lastest tournament results to determine how good you are when you want to brag or whatever.

You will have 1 week to enter for each tournament. Then, you will have 1 week to play your opponent. If you do not have time to play your opponent within that time, you will automatically forfeit and the other player will advance on.

If you think that there will be any disputes on what the results are, either make sure to save all of the replays, or ask me to spectate. Keep in mind, you are allowed to play your matches without me, as sometimes I will be busy doing something else and can not join the matches.

If there is a large amount of lag, you are allowed to play at a later date, however, still along the lines of within one week. If it is laggy and it is near the end of the week, the person with the better internet connection at that time will advance.

Since you can't really decide who is better of the 2 between the Wii U and 3DS version, both champions are allowed to Iron Man me, with 3 Characters, and the same ruleset as the tournament one. The one who takes more stocks off will win.

Please report to me the score after you and your opponent finish. I would prefer you both are there to say it, or post it down below and have the other person respond with a sign of agreeing.

Both Wii U and 3DS Tournaments will use the same ruleset.

Ruleset:

• 3 Stocks
• 8 Minutes
• No Customs
• No Equipment
• No Items
• BO3, Finals are BO5
• Double Elimination
• Gentleman's Rule - If you and your opponent both agree to a stage than you can go ahead and play there.
• Dave's Stupid Rule - You can not play on the same stage twice in the same set.

Nah if everyone else made it, they would most likely participate. I'm not participating because it's set in stone that I would win quite convincingly.

Couple things to point out:

Omegas should be strictly counter-pick, since some characters get a better recovery (everyone with a wall jump and Lucas/Ness), and does the Gentleman's rule take priority over Dave's Stupid Rule?

I'm not entirely sure about that, since I've seen tournaments have Omega Stages be starter. If you ban Final Destination, then all Omega Stages are banned as well. I'll just keep it as a starter for now.

As for the question, yes Gentleman's rule does take priority over Dave's Stupid Rule, assuming that both players are consent to going back to that stage in the same set.

Yes that's fine, as long as they have some way to to contact their opponent on here. If they don't have an account on the forums, you should probably be the one who helps him/her be able to play with their opponent. Make sure they understand all of the rules on here before they play as well. Also, what do you want me to call them?

 

I want to be a part of it too! Can I play against anyone that has it for wii u? If u do tell me your Nintendo username, so that I can add you and we can play together :D
