The Unofficial Terraria Thread

As someone who really enjoys Terraria, I thought that it would be nice to put up another thread about it as all of them got wiped in the great forum purge of 2015. If anyone has a server they would like to share, needs help getting better, or just wants to discuss this awesome game, just post here.

Idea: what if we started a community Terraria server, wich is open 24/7?

 

I'm stuck on the solar pillar ;-;

 

I think that sounds like a great idea! I could go ahead and make one for us.

 

Here are some tips on the solar pillar:

Crawltipedes (Big flying worm things) will only attack you if you fly decently high above the ground (10+ blocks or so) and to kill them you need to target the orb on it's tail. Minions which have melee attacks work great at this. Also, if you use vamipre knives or the spectre hood set you can leech tonnes of health from it, because it has a massive health pool, but negative defense.
Another monster which I forgot the name of will curl up and launch itself at you similar to the turtles and do lots of damage to you, try to avoid getting hit by these. But if they land in water while spinning, they get stuck (Not sure if it's a bug, or even guarenteed).

 

Also, adding onto what 9314265068 said, get yourself a stardust dragon minion if you haven't already. It's the best minion in the game and will help you take out flying enemies such as the crawltipede.

Im at the point where i defeated 1 mechanical boss (the destroyer), do you guys know the best tactic for the twins?

 

Yea, don't try to even out the damage between both eyes. Only take down one at a time so you don't have 2 metal eyes going after you

 

ok, but what type of arena should i make for fighting him?
Should i make a skybridge out of asphalt or should i make a regular arena?

 

Sky bridge out of asphalt, deffenetly.

I used this tactic you kill the Moon Lord, the only thing you must do is set up a portal/teleporter to your Nurse's house and you should be fine. I only tested it with 2 players though...

 

I managed to defeat the twins thanks to 3 stacks of dirt, a megashark with the infinite musket balls and a unicorn mount.
Yay for me i guess.

 

Nice! I beat them by using a gravity potion and an uzi. I just fell away from them while shooting and they eventually died.

 

I beat Terraria about 3-4 times, once on the new update. I got everything I need including the mining thing.

 

Curious, what do people do on the server if they get on?

 

Oh that's easy! Okay, well I'd say first, get full hallowed armor from Destroyer. (Mainly Ranger Set)
You want to have at least some accessories that has more damage to increase the damage on your bow/gun.
Have an asphalt arena about the size of this or smaller:

Then, you should already have wings so, when you reach the edge you just run to the other side. Don't use your wings to fly and fight, try to stay on the asphalt.
Only fly when you need to doge the Spazmatism. I'd say take down the Spazmatism first. So what I did was use a ranger set and used a daedalus stormbow. With all the extra buffs with your accessories I did a total of 60+ Damage. Using Ichor arrows is essential and archery potion does more damage. Now, when you are using this bow, it's raining down multiple arrows, try to aim for Spazmatism a lot. When you've seen that it has reached it's second stage, use the Megashark. The megashark with ichor bullets will make it die easily. Once you've taken down Spazmatism, you can use either the gun or bow, for the Retinazer.

Total Stuff I used:
- About a 999-ish Asphalt Arena
- Daedalus Stormbow
- Spider Staff
- Megashark
- Frozen Wings
- Full Hallowed Range Armor
- Ankh Shield +4 Defense
- Shield of Cthulhu +4 Defense
- Flesh Knuckles +3 Attack Damage
- Frostspark Boots +4 Attack Damage
- Worm Scarf +3 Attack Damage
Buffs:
- Iron Skin
- Bewtiched
- Sharpened
- Archery
- Flask of Fire
- Swiftness
- Greater Healing Potions

P.S. Skeletron Prime is way easier. Probably one of the easiest mechanical bosses in Expert Mode.

 

Kill bosses, get loot, build stuff. The usual.
