Wynn Playlists!

I have assembled a playlist of songs that in my opinion really fit the Wynncraft vibe, and I felt like sharing it.

And also, I am curious: does anybody else have a "Wynn playlist"? What kind of music do you think really fits the Wynncraft vibe? I'd love to hear everybody's picks! (aside from the OST, of course)

Personally, I can say my playlist is mostly comprised of prog rock, which in my opinion really has that fantasy/blissful vibe, plus there are many pieces which take inspiration from medieval music. (There is also a bit of italian music, Italy has got a somewhat rich prog music tradition.) Other than that, Yaelokre and Aurora's "Runaway" are must haves.

In the spoiler below, I'd like to discuss in a few words some songs of my playlist that, other than fitting the general vibe, I associate with specific Wynncraft content and moments.

Spoiler: 'Special' songs

• La Collina - Fabrizio de André: This one has to deal with the Lazarus Pit quest. You know the bit where you talk to the various spirits to open the crypt? Them sharing small bits of their lives reminded me of the Spoon River Anthology, and this song is inspired exactly by that.
• Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin: I believe it's possible to interpret the lyrics and follow the music to go along with the Realm of Light V story. The 'lady' that the song talks about is Lari, who goes on the quest to reach the Realm of Light (going on the 'Stairway to Heaven'); it increasingly gets more dramatic, culminating with the Bak'al fight and ending in a moment of silence when the Nexus of Light opens.
• Chimera's Wreck - Porcupine Tree: I've interpreted the lyrics to fit with Lari's character. There is an old forum post in which I talk about it. https://forums.wynncraft.com/thread...ions-chimeras-wreck-by-porcupine-tree.322543/
• Wuthering Heights - Kate Bush: I've always thought Hollow Serenity had the vibes of a gothic love novel like Wuthering Heights, and well, this song is of course inspired by that.
• Neil Young songs: These are actually connected to a period in my life. I had caught covid, and to entertain myself I spent my free time learning these Neil Young songs on guitar and playing Wynncraft. In particular I remember I had reached the Nesaak forest for the first time.
• Celebration - Premiata Forneria Marconi: Sometimes I imagine this song is played at the Wynncraft seasonal festivals.
• Us and Them - Pink Floyd: This is probably the weirdest connection lol. When I read the "Purple and Blue" quest title for the first time, for some reason it reminded me of the "black and blue" lyric from this song. I began associating Us and Them with the Lake Gylia scenery ever since.
• The Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson: Hmmm... A red king? Sounds familiar, I think the king of Ragni would like to have a word about that.
• Wicked Game - Chris Isaak: Another rather weird connection. Elphaba's name is taken from "Wicked", which makes me think of this song. So, for me, this is the Elphaba theme.
• Lucky Man - Emerson, Lake & Palmer: This song reminds me so much of Bob, a brave 'lucky man' who 'fought for his country and his king'. We are not sure he dies like in the song, however.

 

Peak playlist! (also Yaelokre mentioned)

As far as my own picks, I don't have very many (outside of the official soundtrack). However, if I had to pick one, I do feel like "Outsider" by Eve might fit pretty well with the Fruma questline lyrics-wise.
