Rant about flamethrower

I hate it. I hate it.

Here's what it does, according to the wiki. "Heavy Flamethrower: The mob spits a cone of fire towards players, forward if no one is in reach. Can hit up to 8 times and lasts about 4 seconds. The spell tracks and chases players it targets."

The moment it starts, my monitor becomes a sponsored event by Fire™. I can not see anything but fire. All fire. I can't see the 50 mobs around swarming in to whoop my ass, nor can I see my hopes and dreams to drop a mythic at the end of the run. All I can see is fire.

Did someone say, “Hmm, what if we combined a flamethrower, a homing missile, a blender, and a flashbang into one ability? It's gonna be so fair and balanced.”
“Forward if no one is in reach.” Oh don’t worry. It will reach. It will reach into the past. It will reach into the future. It will reach into the multiverse and burn my evil twin ButterflyPigeon2613.


It also tracks the player. How fast does it track? Well, it's fast enough to track a Warp user. Every mob in the molten heights lootrun has it. I can't escape it by flying away with timelock or running away with 300% walk speed. Teleporting away is a temporary fix. Its tracking is better than mosquitoes on a hot summer day.

In conclusion: This spell spits a 4 second cutscene of that one Daganronpa execution.

I do have a low fire texture pack.
Just that the fire particles on screen blind me.

 

I think if you have sodium and sodium extras (one of the sodium additions I can’t quite recall) you can turn off specific particles or all of them
