This Genuinely Pissed Me Off

I swear Hytale fans are genuinely some of the most annoying people on the internet right now. Real fans of Wynncraft have been waiting for the Fruma update for longer than Hytale was ever even a thing, and every Wynncraft player knew this was a spoiler for Fruma and not a Hytale port announcement. Calling it a "false Hytale server tease" is genuinely such an insult, especially when us real Wynncraft players are far more hyped for Fruma than some stupid Hytale port.

 

I mean. Olinus DID do a bunch of fake WynnTale teasing via official channels, but it was clearly a joke with the community about “haha imagine if we didn’t do fruma and instead did wynntlae after all these years”

 

I think it's totally valid to be peeved (especially at whoever decided to make fake, libelous images of Salted discord messages with absolutely no purpose but to stoke the flames further), but there's really no reason to insult Hytale or its fans that much. I didn't enjoy the game, but it's a crazy generalization to say that "hytale fans are genuinely some of the most annoying people on the internet right now" - especially when this drama is pretty dead (thank god) & there's ABSOLUTELY more annoying groups of people (i.e., the overwhelming majority of twitter users)

 

i love the internet, anytime something hot comes out, there's always going to be a crowd that goes "[franchise] fans are genuinely some of the most annoying people on the internet rn" and really all i have to say to that is

how's the pay as the fun police? :D

 

That's exactly what happened. I've never played Hytale but it even annoyed me because it reflects poorly on the game for the official Wynncraft twitter account to be intentionally teasing something that isn't even remotely planned for development.

 

I take ur point, and I do think it was kind of annoying, but Olinus has never been known to NOT drag out a joke.

 

I don't really watch Olinus' videos so I wouldn't know much about that, I just mean that it's reasonable for someone outside of the Wynncraft community or even within it to be angry about the official account essentially clickbaiting, especially given that a majority of players don't even interact with Wynncraft media beyond the news and the game itself so they wouldn't understand any sort of inside joke regarding Olinus and will otherwise take any sort of official tweet at face value.

Kind of a bad take.
This advertisement was deliberately misleading, I don't think you can blame anyone for being upset when they are basically lied to.

Also what does "real" wynncraft player mean? Obviously if they know enough about wynncraft to be excited about the idea of it coming to Hytale, they've probably played before. It just makes it sound more like a bad attempt at gate keeping over Wynncraft.

Obviously, we know that a Wynncraft port is, not only unlikely to ever happen, but would take years of development time. From a casually Wynncraft enjoyed perspective this is just misleading and shit advertisement, and blaming people for being upset about it is, if not toxic, then just rude. Besides, calling a whole fanbase "annoying" for being upset when basically lied to, says alot more about you then it does them.

 

I mean on one had it was bait for the update, on the other, it takes a ton of copium for Wynntale to be real

 

The Hytale community is used to coping, so I guess that makes some sense lol
