List of Outdated Content in Wynncraft

Outdated content can include old builds, outdated lore, bad quests or quests with old cinematics, old bosses and mobs that use the old spell system, and other content that heavily in need of an update in general

Hopefully yall can add to this thread, but here is a starter list out of the top of my head:

(spoilers btw)

• Qira hive boss, quest, and builds
• All corrupted dungeons
• Forgery system in general (such as the rewards)
• Ice barrows dungeon build and mobs
• Memory paranoia quest (build and cinematics are really old)
• All parts of wynnexcavation
• Quests involving maro peaks
• Legendary island bosses (most of them are just mobs or player models with old spells)
• The wynn plains secret with bob
• Olux town build
• Skein's Island
• Heaven Antiquity Quest (and dead island)
• The lobby
• Most boss alters
• House of twain quest, mobs, and build (although I do still really like its sequel)
• Build stands (they can be done better now that we have abilities etc and the combination of metas switching quickley and new players only have 5 class slots makes swiching builds as an often occurance)
• The ocean
• Tower of Ascention
• What else?

The purpose of this thread is to help the CT bring these to light (although admittidly they have their own methods of deciding what needs an update) and for the community to discuss what in wynncraft is most in need of an update

 

If the monthly patches are gonna happen between Fruma and whatever 2.3's gonna be, rather than have 2.3 just be a bring the whole world up to speed update, I'd rather prefer if the world was updated in chunks based on level range, i. e.

• 2.2.1 updates outdated content from levels 20-30
• 2.2.2 updates outdated stuff from 40-50 (30-40 was already done by 2.1)
• 2.2.3 updates stuff from 50-60

and so on.

many jungle quests (like Grand Youth and Lost in the Jungle)

i mean i feel like this thread could just wait for the fruma update, since there's a good chance some stuff'll get updated (surely not cope).

if its not a game-breaking bug, whats the point in updating wynn rn lol?

i think this thread is meant to exist as a place for a list of outdated stuff, but not necessarily stuff that needs updating (discussion and such)

however
the ocean definitely needs an update (everything except redbeard's booty is way outdated (example: beneath the depths, haven antiquity) and in some cases plain weird (order of the grook))
and by extension a lot of the Envoy, Desperate Metal (did that one get a 2.1 boss. i dont remember), and Mixed Feelings
volcano island is old but besides wynnex stuff it's pretty cool
and half-moon island stands as an exception
also secret discoveries there would be nice

we have no lore for them outside of regular island.
sure we have HOBgoblins in... well, everywhere in Gavel, but i require MORE

 

Order of the Grook is a fun, and really cool quest.

It also HAS to be revamped entirely to remove most references to Harry Potter.

I have no idea how to do this.

 

The only thing I can think of is to just build a new quest from the ground up, that focuses on the lore of mage island.

 

but the quest itself, with choosing your classes, is fun

and OBVIOUSLY my way of playing is not at ALL unique and EVERYONE has the same experiences i do (coughs in taking 5 years and 600 hours to get to level 105)

 

I like the mystery associated with this, but I would also love a teaser to appear around it or a rebuild

 

Possibly the most outdated area is the Savannah, only one quest is entirely contained entirely within it, no secret discoveries of any kind, no lore, no world events, and a few caves. Both towns are pretty barren. It's in an awkward place where it's too small to have it's own true dedicated region, but doesn't feel properly integrated into the dessert or Wynn plains.

 

We are aware, it's just not a speedy process

The Savannah is part of Wynn Plains (and thus shares its Secret Discoveries). It just serves as the transition between Wynn Plains and Almuj Desert

Because some stuff is outdated, unfun, a bit jank, or not lore compliant. It would be better if it was given love and polished as opposed to just left to rot there.

 

Which discovery are you thinking of? None of the Wynn Plains secret discoveries are located in the Savannah. Obviously the Savannah doesn't need a full set of secret discoveries, but an explanation of how the corruption was seemingly unable to spread west (whoops I meant east) for the most part, or how native groups were wiped out/fled/assimilated in the rest of the Wynn Plains, but not Bremminglar, would be interesting.

I'm not thinking of any secret discovery, I'm just saying it's a subregion of Wynn Plains, so it's not like Troms & Dernel Jungle with their absence of Secret Discoveries.

Corruption has spread both west and east without issue. The only area in Wynn that it has had issue with is Nesaak, and specifically because the area was magically frozen. It's mostly underground, and the spikes that sprout up are coming from beneath the earth

 

magic school is a neat concept but i just dont think it works super well in game right now
the pick-your-schedule section would be fun if picking them was intuitive. do i right click them or left click them or walk into them? (im about 50/50 with actually getting all the classes i picked)
a lot of the classes have uninteresting (water) or contradictory (dodging in the FIRE challenge) concepts, wybels is totally unrelated, the species class never actually makes direct comparisons between the species in the same power levels, so you have to guess or use the wiki (i always put doguns at the top but it's elves i think?), let's see: shamanism has the guessing puzzle, so many other weird things
thunder class is interesting and fun... until you fail it for the 13th time

choosing supplies is a cool idea until you realize that some books are objectively bad and the player has no idea what fabled they're gonna get/no indication they're gonna get a fabled
the lore is weird and crusty

if there was a magic academy quest that was good and fit into the game I would like it, but as it stands there's so much wrong with Order of the Grook. (even though i get that you like it)
