    Hello Proffers!
So you wanna do some proffing but you don't know where to start, eh? Well here I have compiled a list of resources for you to find the most suitable path for you!

I have noticed as I've gotten more into proffing recently and as I've invited friends and they began to prof, that there are so many resources out there designated to point out the best ways to gather and craft, so I figured I'd compile them all together and while I'm at it throw my own hand in the pot!

    So here you go!

    -------------------------------------------------------

    What is proffing???
I'm sure you're wondering once agian, "Pear, what is proffing???? Why do people prof??" While I can't necessarily answer all these questions with precision, I can say that proffing is the act of engaging in professions such as the gathering professions of Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Farming, as well as the 8 crafting professions! One of the guides listed has a more in-depth explanation, so feel free to check it out! Here I will be reviewing and ranking professions guides, posted over the years and listing their uses so people can find the perfect guide for them!

    Ranking System
    I will be ranking each guide out of three stars based on criteria;
    - Quality of Information: "Is this information up-to-date / accurate?"
    - Quantity of Information: "How much information is there / is it complete?"
    - Comprehensiveness: "How easy is it to read / find what I need?"
Each of these criteria will be ranked and unified/averaged to reach an overall ranking for each guide! However, just because it has a low star rank doesn't mean it isn't a good guide! My ranks can be subjective, so please feel free to check them all out yourself!

    Classification System
    Each guide will be given one or multiple of these classifications;
    - Gathering Locations Guide [G] - These guides have listed spots for people to gather materials
    - Crafting Guide [C] - These guides have more in-depth explanations for crafting professions
    - Profession Information Guide [P] - These guides have more in-depth explanations of professions as a whole, as well as things that may fall under a similar category

    ★★★ [3 Star Guides]
    Guide Rank: ★★★ 3/3
    Quality of Information: ★★★
    Quantity of Information: ★★★
    Comprehensiveness: ★★★
    Classification: [G][C][P]
These guides are incredibly comprehensive and very nuanced! They show the path you can take for each gathering, and even give ways to collect ingredients that help with levelling crafting! This is highly recommendable for all sorts of reasons!

An incredibly comprehensive guide and breakdown of professions! It was last updated relatively recently in late 2024, however some things of course may have changed since then. Even so, it's incredibly in-depth and it can tell you pretty much everything you need to know about professions in general! HIGHLY recommend!

I may be a bit biased seeing as this was a thread made by myself, but I mean it would certainly be held up to the same standards I've held the others to, so I plead the fifth! A very comprehensive guide for what it is, including all the currently known resource tunnels and what can be found in each! Highly recommend!

Overall a very comprehensive crafting guide! After a quick skim and searching for certain things I found that it's extremely useful for people trying to level crafting! It not only has a relative amount of materials necessary for each level, but it's also extremely easy to find whatever you're looking for! It hasn't been updated in a few years so of course it may not be the most perfect in relativity, but I've found that for current times it's still extremely useful nonetheless!

    ★★☆ - ★★⯪ [2 - 2.9 Star Guides]
    Guide Rank: ★★⯪ 2.8/3
    Quality of Information: ★★⯪
    Quantity of Information: ★★★
    C0mprehensiveness: ★★★
    Classification: [G][C]
Very comprehensive and nuanced! I would say this is one of the most in-depth guides of this list! However, it was created in 2022, and likely has some issues with being outdated. I would say for the most part, it's still a great guide!

    Guide Rank: ★★⯪ 2.5/3
    Quality of Information: ★★☆
    Quantity of Information: ★★⯪
    C0mprehensiveness: ★★★
    Classification: [G]
Overall a good guide for locations! It does note at the top that it is an old guide and therefore could have some outdated information, seeing as its last update was in late 2019. I've also found that while it is very easy to read and find the information necessary, there does seem to be almost too much information to digest, but that may be more of a personal preference so take it as you will!

    Guide Rank=★★⯪ 2.5/3
    Quality of Information: ★★⯪
    Quantity of Information: ★★⯪
    Comprehensiveness:★★⯪
    Classification: [G]
This is a personal guide that may not be suitable for everyone, but it uses the spots that I personally believe are best! There are less options per resource, but in general these areas are good areas! It's also incomplete and will be updated!

    Guide Rank: ★★⯪ 2.3/3
    Quality of Information: ★★☆
    Quantity of Information: ★★☆
    C0mprehensiveness: ★★★
    Classification: [C]
Another old guide! This one has not been updated since 2019, ecause of this, I would assume there would be some discrepancies about its accuracy. Nevertheless, even an outdated guide can still be helpful! I will also say it is relatively lacking in information as well compared to the previous [C] guide.

    ★☆☆ - ★⯪☆ [1 - 1.9 Star Guides]
    Guide Rank: ★⯪☆ 1.6/6
    Quality of Information: ★★☆
    Quantity of Information: ★☆☆
    C0mprehensiveness: ★★☆
    Classification: [G]
This is a VERY new professions guide, and seems to be incomplete from what I can tell, so I shall keep an eye out and update its rank accordingly as it updates! However currently, it's lacking in presentation, and some of the levels listed don't have locations, so that's why its rank is quite low. Nevertheless, I do hope they continue to update their thread to include more information!

    Guide Rank: ★⯪☆ 1.6/3
    Quality of Information: ★⯪☆
    Quantity of Information: ★☆☆
    C0mprehensiveness: ★★⯪
    Classification: [P]
This thread is quite outdated, and missing key information about the subject. It has not been updated since 2022, and it only lists 3 out of the 4 areas, along with some of its information being incorrect (corrected by comments in the thread!) Overall a good guide, but there are better ones out there.

    Notes
    - All of these are my own personal opinions, and I am NOT the most knowledgeable person on the subject on proffing!
    - I will be updating this to add other guides if they are presented to me or I find them!
    - They are ordered by their star ranking to make it easier to process! Highest is at the top, lowest is at the bottom!

    -------------------------------------------------------

    Enjoy!
If you have any questions, changes, updates, or things for me to add please let me know!

functionally? no. item balance has probably changed a little, and there are more ids now than when it came out, along with plenty more ingredients, but it shouldn't be too lacking

    Very nice prof guide compendium!
May I recommend putting in all of the Olinus video guides? They've been my tool of choice when I (occasionally) prof.

Oh sure! I can update the star rank on that one if it seems fitting then! I shall take a look at the Olinus Guides then as well, and rank them accordingly! Thank you so much!~

All of these link to the fandom wiki. Here are the links for the official wiki. From what I remember seeing from some changes between the move and now the wiki.gg pages are more updated iirc:

    Fishing: https://wynncraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Fishing
    Woodcutting: https://wynncraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Woodcutting
    Mining: https://wynncraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Mining
    Farming: https://wynncraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Farming

If you want to avoid the fandom wiki altogether, you can download the IndieWikiBuddy extension- it should cross out all results from fandom wikis if an independent wiki already exists.

On the topic of the guide itself: thank you very much for this. I already got to 110 for all my profs on my main but if I ever feel the need to get to 118 on that or on other characters, this will be a tremendous help. I'd recommend putting this guide in your sig for easy access if this thread is ever able to be necroposted.

I quite literally noticed this and replaced the links not long ago before I'd seen your message haha.
I might add it to my signature, but I do like the way my signature looks with my guild's signature banner haha. Thank you regardless, I appreciate it!
