I was recently inspired by the “Normal Tier Items Only” thread, as I love the concept of completing self-imposed challenges in Wynncraft. I saw their general guidelines for completion, and it inspired me to make my own little variation of “Dungeon Items Only”, as well as post the progress using their guide as a format.

    Dungeon Items Only Challenge: Archer________

I chose archer for this specific challenge because of its potential for zoning, mobility, and range. No other class really has its speed and damage, so it’ll be best for doing the first dungeon naked. This will change, maybe, if I have to start over.

This challenge poses the issue of the level 1-10 range having effectively no items, as well as the fact that later on, you just end up with so many good options for gear. To compensate, and add to the challenge, I’ve limited myself to 1 items type per dungeon. So, as an example, I’ll complete decrepit sewers/The sewers of Ragni, and I’ll have access to the leggings Knee, and the bow Stale, but I will not be able to take another armor piece or weapon, like ribcage. (The same would be said if there was another accessory or weapon at the dungeon shop.) A majority of the mid game will very likely be done with missing pieces of armor, and a completely empty set of accessory slots—except for witherheads talisman.

Also, one last little rule. If I ever die twice in a dungeon, I will be deleting the character and restarting the entire challenge. If this ever happens—I hope to god it doesn’t at level 101–I’ll put a little mark at how far we got in the thread below. I’ll likely restart, and I’ll start marking the incomplete bosses/quests in a different thread.

EDIT: This rule is bogus for some corrupted dungeons. CIP in particular is horrible and can lead to a coin flip when entering whether or not you live. This is especially true for the boss, because—I kid you not—you will spawn facing AWAY from the actual boss. AND, on top of this, you can just as easily get overwhelmed by the mountain of spiders that will spawn right next to you.
Because of this, CIP is the only dungeon I’m giving myself a leg up on, which will give me time to try out the rooms and bosses. If I can complete it once on any archetype, it will be enough.
(I may change this depending on if there are any other issues with corrupted dungeons, since they’ve removed the 10 second delay between bosses, which would’ve eliminated the problem of insta deaths/coin flips.)

I’ll be updating the thread over the course of the week, adding on the proper levels and quests/bosses I chose to complete. Regardless, I hope more people get inspired to try out more unique challenges!

Level 1: Energized Mushroom [Enzan's Brother] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 2: Corrupt Farmer [Poisoning the Pest] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 4: Elder Forest Spider [Infested Plants] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 5: Skeleton Reaper [The Sewers of Ragni] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 6: Bylvis' Guard Golem [Tunnel Trouble] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 8: Fire Flak [Taking the Tower] COMPLETED Deaths: 1

Level 9: Witherhead [Decript Sewers] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 10: The Well Witch [Maltic's Well] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

I did sewers of Ragni to prepare myself to use Stale for the actual dungeon. It made the entire dungeon trivial, despite the fact that I was naked. Currently, I’d say that the most difficult portion of this part of the game would be the Taking the Tower. Though Skeleton Reaper is a close second position, it can be consistently managed with just staying as close to the opposite side as possible, making it a quick 4 arrow bombs.

With my pants and only bow on the way, we find our very first road block of the run

Level 11: Corrupted Summoner [Elemental Exercise] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 12: Dr. Essren [Potion Making] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 13: Etus the blind [Stable Story] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 13: Albert the Strong [Stable Story] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 17: Arakadicus [Infested Pit] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 18: Heart of Lava [Lava Springs] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 20: Sayleros' Brother [Grave Digger] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 20: Durum Protector [Bovine Barn]

    COMPLETED Deaths: 10…

Holy cow (har har) bovine barn. I was lucky to have completed Arakadicus as many times as I did, because doing this with stale was impossible. The scarecrows allowed for too much damage, the boss got too many free heals, and it made dodging the boss’s final phase completely up to luck.

Luckily, for me, I wasn’t limited to stale. After purchasing a piece of the spider set—the helmet—and quite possibly one of the most slept on lvl 20 bows—web spitter my beloved tradable—I was set to fight. Still, on my 5th attempt, I just needed a better strategy. My gear was limiting, but my ability tree wasn’t. After sacrificing all forms of sustainability and defense, I was set to burst attack between crashes, clear out the room of scarecrows, and windy feet sprint around the arena. After 10 grueling attempts, and 8 minutes straight of shooting, I finally beat this thing. I pray that this road block is not a bad omen later on.

Two pieces of armor, a necklace, and my web spitter, I’m reminded of the rules I set for dungeons. Underworld Crypt especially made me stressed.

Level 23: CLUCKLES [Cluck Cluck] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 24: Rotten Necromancer [Lost Tower] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 24: Charon [Underworld Crypt] COMPLETED Deaths: -1 (Embarrassing boss)

Level 25: Timekeeper [Tempo Town Trouble] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 25: Pigman Overlord [Creeper Infiltration] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 25: Corrupted Summoner [Recover The Past] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 25: Haros [Rotten Passage] COMPLETED Deaths: 4

Level 27: Garoth [Lost Sanctuary] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 28: Colossal Rat [Misadventure on the Sea] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 30: Takan [The Mercenary] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Something I haven’t mentioned to this point is that I do use my second chance in dungeons. There are just so many enemies in Underworld Crypt and Infested Pit that I can be so easily overwhelmed, purely by chance or by lag. Underworld crypt is especially tense, as a single misplaced arrow shield can literally end the run. Luckily for me, cheesing those wait sections is somehow the only difficult part of the dungeon, as Charon still remains the number 1 most baby boss on the planet, not even living 6 seconds before being completely decimated by my level 20 bow and 2 pieces of under leveled dungeon gear.

(Charons brains made for some of the best rewards: the Samurai Chestplate and Damnation. Holy moly that bow is amazing, and the chestplate will end up coming in handy later on.)

Haros, on the other hand, had a different story. Quite possibly the most annoying boss I’ve faced yet, the sheer number of mobs, heals, and goofy ahh ranger mobs just makes this fight a pain.

Luckily for me, I had enough ability points to really experiment with this boss, as well as a stockpile of low tier powders I’ve found from caves. I made most of my webspitter, stacking a tier 2 earth powder on it for added damage to my Bryophyte Roots, while being set for piercing and crowd control with Phantom Ray. The added water damage on web spitter—alongside the air damage—just gave this bow so much damage potential. Best of all, web spitters 8% mob slowing made them take extra damage in Bryophyte, finally landing me the win, not before having to wait 10 whole minutes fighting this thing. (It was miserable.)
    ]
Mana sustain has been awful low, so I stopped to get a brise from TLS. This, funnily enough, will be our only mana regen helmet until level 70, outclassing every helmet we will see. I wonder how much of an issue this will pose later on?

Level 32: Bandit Leader [A Sandy Scandal] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 34: Cockatrice [Canyon Condor] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

    Level 35: Pharaoh Nabak[WynnExcavationSiteA] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 36: Mummy [Wrath of the Mummy] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 36: Hashr [Sand-Swept Tomb] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

level 39: Clearing the Camps Orc Leaders [Clearing the Camps] COMPLETED Deaths: 1

Level 40: Snow Bear [Tower Of Ascension] COMPLETED Deaths: 4

Level 40: Rymek Luke [Sunrise Canyon] COMPLETED Deaths: 11

At this point, we are practically unstoppable. Damnation is an incredible bow, and, will be our main Fire and Earth damage bow until level 60–if I so choose. Not just this, but the added intel and mana regen from Brise, the extra health and thunder/air damage from Samurai, and the free 5 agility from knee just makes everything along this level range a walk in the park. I breeze through SST, making short work of Hashr, finally getting myself Chaser, our primary boltslinger bow. I redo my ability tree, play around with whatever can give me more spell damage, and, finally, dive straight into Rymek Luke…

It’s these boss altars I swear

Rymek is, by far, the most complex boss we will face in mid game. I went into it thinking it’d be simple, “just circle him”, but, then I see the cutscene, I see the debuffs, I leap 5 times into the explosives and instantly die.

Every hit in this fight is a one shot, especially when trying to use Chaser. We have no real way to survive, even with agility procs; we have to play PERFECTLY.

I started noting his sound queues, constantly circling and weaving between gun shots. Whenever he was reloading, this was my chance to spam arrow storms and guardian angels, before escaping back and strafing yet again.

On his final phase, he doesn’t have that moment of respite. You are constantly moving. I had to switch to arrow bomb just to consistently land hits. And, that certainly was difficult with how many times he would dodge my bomb. Each arrow bomb felt like he could snipe me, setting me straight back to studying his queues and dodging those damned dynamite circles.

May the better gunslinger win, as I land the final shot, 11 attempts of consistent one shots and misfired leaps, I finally got this guy. All this sets me up for, though, is the dread I know I’ll feel when I inevitably have to do the same thing with Theorick. Only, this time, I won’t have the leisure of retries.

(Snow bear just sucked, stupid ahh random arrow storm spell and charge explosion. Boooooo)
This range has a lot of interesting bosses to fight, Theorick being especially horrifying. Not just for his dungeon, but for his freezing capabilities. I hope this goes well…

Level 41: Undead Pirate Captain [Ice Nations] COMPLETED Deaths: 0 (Forgot to do him at 40, but it’s a baby boss, regardless.)

Level 42: Sundial Sanctum Boss Rush [Sundial Sanctum] COMPLETED Deaths: 4

Level 43: Corrupted Hellbeast [Fate of the Fallen] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 43: Theorick [Ice Barrows] COMPLETED Deaths: 1 (Revived by Shaman)

Level 44: Rai-Poxper [Blazing Retribution] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 45: Argaddon [Tower of Ascension]
    COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 45: The Beast & The Enslaved [Prison of Souls] COMPLETED Deaths: 1

Level 49: Phantom Twain [The House of Twain] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 49: Quartron Core [Rise of the Quartron] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

We’re really starting to feel the power creep now. Though Chaser and Damnation are incredibly overpowered, our current gear leaves a lot to be desired defensively and offensively. Bosses like Quartron and Shackled Beast are incredibly drawn out battles, each boasting impressive defensive and HP pools. Despite this, and the unlucky death on Theorick, this level range is incredibly simple. No real difficulty spikes beyond Ice Barrows itself.

Now, what gear were left with is not looking great. We won’t be seeing anything above 700 HP till we beat Slykaar, and we only really managed to gain a single ring—vapor. The added mana will be nice, but a good replacement pair of leggings would be really nice right now. Fingers crossed we aren’t stopped in the jungle, although chaser and damnation should be good counters to the surrounding enemies.
The sight of all these world bosses has me tense, as we’ve already managed to get so far on level 20-30 gear alone. Surely, power creep will reveal itself on tankier bosses, like Matryoshka.

Level 51: Witch Doctor [Tower of Ascension] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 52: Bane of the Great Bridge [Great Bridge] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 53: Alligator Leader [Master Piece] NOT DONE Deaths: 0

Level 54: Slykaar [Undergrowth Ruins] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 55: Olux Plague Doctor [Plague Laboratory] COMPLETED Deaths: 2

Level 55: Matryoska Idol [Iboju Village Library] COMPLETED Deaths: 4

Level 55: Guardian [Tower of Ascension] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

level 55: General Skien [Skien’s Island] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 57: Tribe Zombie Chief [Tribal Sanctuary] COMPLETED Deaths: 1

Level 60: Chained Beast [Tower of Ascension] COMPLETED Deaths 0

Level 60: Vulcor Adrenophage [Magmastream Core] COMPLETED Deaths: 10

Despite the visible level caps I’ve stolen, I generally do the bosses at a lower level than what is shown. Normally, this adds challenge. Fortunately for me, alot of the bosses in this level range are just embarrassingly easy on Boltslinger. Our movement potential is just too great, and we have incredible damage with both Chaser and Damnation. And, once Fetish and Whirlwind are obtained, it’s basically the same as playing in vanilla, with the downside of being very squishy.
I think the only genuinely interesting fights are Matryoshka, needing to switch from chaser and Damnation consistently to not make the fight 15 minutes long, and—obviously—Bane. They’re the only bosses that really require some kind of interesting strategy.
All in all, we’re pretty much set for gear, and we should be set to breeze through the upcoming level range with minimal issues…

…is what I would be saying if Vulcor wasn’t complete garbage. Not even a hard fight, just run and dodge. However, all it takes is one bad frame drop, one random flame thrower, a single charge mistimed. There’s enemies everywhere with one shot flamethrowers and charges, making one wrong move—or one bad server connection—to completely ruin you.
This fight is a complete piece of garbage. It’s either completely forgettable on one class, or a consistent one shot fest if you can’t see the old Wynn jank.
I sincerely hope they rework this thing, since it’s genuinely just a bad boss to fight. (Cool design, though.)
We’re reaching the mid game, and with it comes a heaping pile of bloated HP target dummies. Most of these guys don’t have very complicated AI, with very simple spell combos. Let’s hope Thunder Air Boltslinger can carry us again!

Level 60: Chained Beast [Tower of Ascension] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 61: Centerworld Orc Overtaker [Reclaiming the House] COMPLETED Deaths: 1

Level 62: Possessed Aryn [Lost in the Jungle] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 63: Redbeard [Galleon's Graveyard] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 64: Warden of Wisdom [A Headless History] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 64: Arrai-Veretel [All Roads to Peace] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 65: Alkevo [Tower of Ascension] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 67: Volatile Fleris [From the Mountains] COMPLETED Deaths: 1

Level 70: Amadel [WynnExcavation Site D] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 70: Corrupted Witherhead [Corrupted Decript Sewers] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 70: General Skien [Altar of Sanctification] Postponed because boring to grind ingredient + boring boss. (Saved for level 75)

Level 70: Blade of Shade [Challenge of the Blades] COMPLETED Deaths: 8

Level 70: Death [Tower of Ascension] COMPLETED Deaths: 3

What an incredible level range. Reworked Aryn is incredibly unique, and every boss before level 70 is so wonderfully balanced and interesting to fight (Minus the ToA bosses). Though not very challenging, the majority of these newer bosses were engaging to the end, despite the HP bloat we are facing. And, with Admiral in our belts + Red Beard’s hand cannon, we had very little trouble dealing with anything the game threw at us. Things were looking good!

It wasn’t until we hit level 70, though, that I noticed something. Amadel had the potential to be a miserable experience, but, frenzy and leap made sure that we had a chance. It was long, but, ultimately, nothing we couldn’t handle.
No, it was Blade of Shade that I noticed a huge problem:

This boss splits into a max of 16 versions of itself—at a time. Regardless of the max number of shades seen, it will split on death an extra 5 times, gaining more health on each split, and doubling itself. I think we were starting to see the issue when an effective 2.5 million HP boss at level 70 shown its ugly teeth. How the hell was I gonna do this, especially when the fight is already long as it is.

Multiple attempts were thrown into this boss, trying to take them all out in quick succession, to no success. It wasn’t until I noticed my lil explosion identification proc that I had an idea: slowly chipping the boss’s clones with my melee, and spamming my guardian angels to keep procing arrow rain. This, actually, worked amazingly, keeping very few clones agroed onto me, while dealing with them 1, 2 at a time. 20 minutes of shooting later left us with a clean victory.

Now, ironically enough, I was way more scared of Death as a roadblock than I ever was with Blade. Nothing could’ve prepared me for the million HP doomsday machine that was that boss altar…

Though Death seemed impossible on Bolt, it was a walk in the park on sharpshooter. Redbeard’s cannon gave me a perfect outlet to easily whittle this guys HP down, while consistently taking care of the surrounding bosses.

Finally, after a good 4 minutes of shooting, I was done with the tower, cementing ourselves onto the most challenging part of the run.

(Ignore general skien, I’m tired of grinding for his badge just to get exploded by a neurotic heavy charge spamming loser that is this altar. This boss is made for 75 anyways, and I will gladly return to him with my new toy, once I can.)
We’re breaching the real heavy hitters of mid game. By a majority of these, we’ll have access to Corrupted Witherhead’s bow, though, so it should be a fairly balanced set of fights. Let’s hope for the best, especially with 2 corrupted dungeons, both with no second chance.

Level 71: Lari [Finding the Light] COMPLETED Deaths: 1

Level 72: Tunnel Dweller Chieftain [Lexdale Witch Trials] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level: 73: Aenara [Troubled Tribesmen] COMPLETED Deaths: 0 (idk what they were balancing when making this boss, since it’s weaker than some ToA enemies).

Level 73: Garvan, the Wanderer [Hollow Serenity] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 74: Bob's Reincarnation [Reincarnation] COMPLETED Deaths: 9
    __________________________________
Level 74: Corrupted Arakadicus [Corrupted Infested Pit] COMPLETED Deaths: 15

No second chances completely ruins any chance at doing this boss, as the sheer number of minions and web spells will just kill me instantly.

15 attempts of sharp and bolt lead me nowhere. Sharp cannot sustain enough damage to not die to random bull, and bolt can’t reliably get through the dungeon without praying. I was losing my mind at this fluster cluck of a dungeon.

as always, there’s a counter for every bit of outdated content in this game, and trapper made sure of this sentiment. If you are ever going to do this challenge/dungeon on hardcore, trapper is your only consistent hope, as the other archetypes will not reliably save you, or even be able to beat the boss.

STRATEGY: Set up shrapnel/traps, and never be away from the walls. Be sure to have an arrow shield up to cycle escapes, and take the spectral hover ability. With it, you should reliably be able to float over the boss and cycle off traps/arrow shields. If you’re lucky, escape will proc consistently, but that can occasionally just not work, as the arenas barriers are placed weirdly. The hound/crows should be able to keep the boss clean by the traps, which makes the fight actually doable.
    __________________________________
Level 75: Revenant of Skien [Altar of Sanctification] COMPLETED Deaths: 4 (Turns out, it is doable at level 70, maybe even earlier, as crep ray is completely and utterly busted at this point in the game, especially on old-Wynn bosses like Skien.)

Level 75: Skyraider Queen [Flight in Distress] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 76: Razorouse King [Bigger Picture] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 78: Corrupted Garoth [Corrupted Lost Sanctuary] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 79: Your Reflection? [Realm of Light V — The Realm of Light] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 80: Psychomancer [Qira Hive] COMPLETED Deaths: 5
(A decent fight, definitely possible on any archetype, but slowest on Bolt. Sharp is good, but a little inconsistent with focus building and crep rays. I definitely recommend trapper for a lot of the coming mid game fights.
You can pretty much potion spam and set up traps/chilling snares around the arena to ensure he consistently teleports himself into them. If you’re lucky, it should finish in about 15 seconds.)

This level range is quite possibly the worst omen to come. Despite some decent bosses in Garvan and—debatably—Psychomancer, a majority of these bosses were either completely forgettable, or so mind-numbingly unfair, buggy, and inconsistent that it has made me entirely despise every old Wynn boss left untouched. Corrupted dungeons as a whole, as well, are just my absolute least favorite part of the game. They break far too often, are littered with garbage spells like pull, explosion, and multihit, and are just a guarantee one shot if you’re not lucky. And I mean it when I say lucky, because it is entirely up to luck whether or not you die in half of these fights. These fights—dungeons too—were not made with glass cannons in mind, especially if the glass part of the cannon is more emphasized.

Overall, an entirely miserable level range with a few decent moments of respite. I am not excited in the slightest for any more corrupted dungeons.
Definitely have my work cut out for this level range. Now, despite the bleak outlook of more corrupted dungeons and difficult bosses, the gear we are about to receive will be the saving grace of this entire run. CUC will give us a new helmet (after 60 levels), CSST will give us a possible new weapons AND a new pair of boots (68 levels now), and CIB offers us not just a new necklace, but a possible new chestplate as well. Even FF can offer us some incredible gear, which I’m finding impossible to actually decide.
Fingers crossed for a smooth sail…

Level 82: Corrupted Charon [Corrupted Underworld Crypt] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 84: Spirit Of Gale [Qira Hive] COMPLETED Deaths: 5 (Not so much difficult as it is confusing/disorientating. Her bombs are generally really difficult to see, what with the particle spam and the constant need to escape spell away from her. Though, with Redbeard’s handcannon, as well as our new helmet Ossuary, sharpshooter makes quick work of Gale. Definitely possible to sub 15 seconds this fight, but I’m not too great at stacking focus consistently on spell.)

Level 85: Phoenix Prince [Lost Avos City] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 86: Bovine Abomination [Cowfusion] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 86: Desperate Metal Mechs [Desperate Metal] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 86: Corrupted Hashr [Corrupted Sand-Swept Tomb] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 87: Krolton [Beyond the Grave] COMPLETED Deaths: 1/2 (Quest forces you to die, technically)

Level 88: Genesis Revorse [Qira Hive] COMPLETED Deaths: 0 (Idk what was happening in this boss room. I pretty much was floating in the air the whole time. Probably a cool fight, if it wasn’t so weirdly implemented.)

Level 89: Mech X [The Envoy Part 2] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 90: Antikythera Supercomputer [Fallen Factory] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 90: Corrupted Theorick [Corrupted Ice Barrows] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 90: Mining Mech TERA-4M [Geyser Pit] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Im really not sure what I was scared of, now that I’ve actually experienced this.

Generally, we are safe to run ETA on trapper, especially with Witherhead’s bow. I would be more inclined to use nii set this level range, but, it just isn’t possible until level 88. However, once that came to fruition, having a full set of Nii armor, with the Uth leggings, and Redbeard’s handcannon? It completely trivialized EVERYTHING. You are nigh unkillable with Nii already, and with the added def from Uth leggings, your EHP is wayyy too high for these bosses. It might actually just be the most viable way to play trapper atp.

With that, however, a very simple level range, overall. Trapper is just such a busted archetype for all these bosses, especially when most of them don’t have very high knockback resistance (also, selvut didn’t scale them, so they’re much weaker than what they’re supposed to be). Gale proved to be the only major road block, since everything else was just incredibly easy to read. I’m confident for the upcoming level range, as I feel that I’m set to cleanly sweep the rest of the game—especially with Orange Lily coming up.
The more I look at these bosses, the more I realize qira and vanguard are my only scary foes. Orange wybel might give me a bit of a long fight, but, Nii set trivializes him, so…

Fingers crossed for a sub 5-10 minute Qira

Level 92: Oceanic Judge [Qira Hive] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

Level 94: Corrupted Slykaar [Corrupted Undergrowth Ruins] COMPLETED Deaths: 0 (Did it at level 90, just to see if it’d be a challenge. I definitely felt the length, but, Nii set just proves itself to be so incredibly busted.)

Level 95: Adamastor + Urdar [Aerie of the Recluse] COMPLETED Deaths: 1 (Crap boss on trapper fr, Nii set trivializes everything)

Level 96: Solar Vanguard [Qira Hive] COMPLETED Deaths: 3 (Done at level 90. Actually not horrible, if you’re not trapper or bolt. Bolt has great movement, but no DPS, while Trapper has decent movement/survivability, but both too much and too inconsistent dps. Sharpshooter is actually a really good middle ground, since the dps is decent, but not too overpowering, making the boss easier to fight. Not only that, but crep ray lets you fly, so it actually has good movement. Overall, an actually engaging fight, minus the pull spells.)

Level 98: Corrupted Captain Redbeard [Corrupted Galleon's Graveyard] COMPLETED Deaths: 0 (Yeah, CGG… even at 93, this boss is baby buns.)

Level 99: Orange Wybel [Unknown Area] COMPLETED Deaths: 4 (…)

Level 100: Qira [Qira Hive] COMPLETED Deaths: 1 (Done at level 92. An incredible fight, minus the blindness. Actually genuinely engaging throughout the entire fight, running through an entire stack of healing potions, with Nii Set and plague. It took about 6 minutes, but, it was still an amazing fight.)

    Orange wybel…

unfortunately, it may actually be an impossible fight on archer. If even one pressure plate gets pressed, you literally cannot damage the little wybels enough to not have them heal everyone to max health. And, to add to it, your arrows can interact with the plates. So, without some incredible, mind boggling luck and placement to not ever manage to hit a pressure plate, you are physically incapable of dealing enough damage.
Maybe, if you could hyper optimize orange lily to deal around 45-50k dps, you could maybe use sharpshooter to beat the wybels, but the gear we have available—from our rules—still doesn’t give us enough of a shot to out damage more than one pressure plate worth of wybels.

It hurt to see this, really, because the fight itself is not difficult, and is very doable without the wybel. Even with them, it would be fine if they didn’t have heavy heal.

So, I’m forced to make a lil cheat for this boss, and cheese it from inside the wybel container. I cannot get the drops, and will be forced to /kill to leave the arena, but, it’s really the only way to beat this thing on archer.

It’s such a bittersweet ending to this level range, because Qira was such a fun fight. It sucks that the final fight I have for this level range ended up being literally impossible, without cheese. Regardless, we’re through the worst of the game, because the gear we have access to now will be more than enough to melt the eye, shred through Aledar +Tasim, and demolish Panic Zealot.
A good 2 weeks of playing has led me to this point. We’re set with all the necessary weapons, accessories, and gear. Nii/Uth set are available to us for Panic Zealot, but, I’ve got another idea for the eye.
TFA is one of my favorite combos on archer, since it’s so easy to sustain on trapper, and allows for some crazy damage with no real risk of taking any. I’ve got my “eye” set on using Witherhead’s Bow for all of AJB and AJF, and I intend to beat the eye with that same weapon. It’s just such a good weapon, and it gives me a higher chance of victory, because I won’t need to worry about Orange Lily’s low dps output with Nii set. Speaking of which, I figured I would mention my builds below, for anyone who’s interested in this point of the game—with my set rules.

    EFA Build:
    Ossuary (Helmet)
    Discharge (Chestplate)
    Thunder Sanctuary (Leggings)
    Skidbladnir/Dust Skaters (Boots)
    Field (Ring)
    Spider Ring (Ring)
    Vanguard (Bracelet)
    Pulse Stopper (Necklace)
    Witherhead’s Bow (Bow)

(Powdered with T6 Thunder Powders, of course. E6 and W6 powders on armor are optional, since you should have invested in 50% agility, and have plenty of air/thunder defense.)

    EWF Orange Lily/TWF Plague Build:
    Nii (Helmet)
    Nii (Chestplate)
    Uth (Leggings)
    Nii (Boots)
    Field (Ring)
    Spider Ring/Vapor (Ring)
    Vanguard (Bracelet)
    Gigabyte/Pulse Stopper (Necklace)
    Orange Lily/Plague (Bow)

Powder Orlily with one E6 and 2 W6, while plague can go full F6. Optional powdering for earth, water, air, and thunder defense.

    Regardless…

    We’re trapper, we win.

Level 101: The Eye [Eldritch Outlook] COMPLETED Deaths: 0 (had one close call with the laser, but, an easy fight, regardless.)

Level 101: Panic Zealot [Bottomless Pit] COMPLETED Deaths: 4 (Love this fight, love timing potions, love zoning him with trapper. If it weren’t for Annie lag at the time of fighting, this would’ve been a 10/10 fight. Regardless, loved every minute of it)

    Level 103: Aledar & Tasim [A Hunter's Calling] COMPLETED Deaths: 0

And with that, the entire challenge is officially completed. With only one death at Theorick, and CIP, CLS, and CUC being either horrible or bugged, I was really unsure how far I’d want to go with this challenge. Those 3 dungeons are just such a big deterrent from this challenge. But, we persevered with CIP, and the boss finally spawned on CUC/CLS, giving me hope for the rest of this run. Even the huge hurdles of early game were truly amazing roadblocks to experience, as there was so many possibilities with gear planning, ability tree management, and skill point distribution. And, to top it all, the satisfaction of besting a really difficult boss with the limited gear we were offered. What a challenge, and, I’m excited for the prospect of more!

Though, in all honesty, this was the most anti-climactic end I could have ever imagined. The eye was an absolute joker, and Aledar and Tasim couldn’t have been easier of a boss. I didn’t even notice they were dead, the fight ended so quickly. Panic Zealot, however, was a great boss. It was exactly what I imagined the bosses at this point to be, so, I’m satisfied with one, at least.

So, to soothe my sore spot for bosses, I’ll give myself a goal to reach at 104-105…

(This second thread will be for my failed attempts. Every time I die in a dungeon, I will redo the challenge on a different class. If I can make it to the point of my death on that class, I will give myself another “life” on the separate class, just as a way to try again. If I lose on that class again, however, it’s deleted and the run switches over to the new class. As an example, my archer was bested by Theorick during a lag spike, so, we are switching to shaman for this next run.)

    Dungeon Items Only: Shaman

Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to study Theorick properly, as I was swiftly killed twice due to NA server lag. It hurt to see, especially because I didn’t get to properly feel the fight before going down, but, rules are rules, and I’m set to redo the run on a different class.

(However, I needed another archer leveled anyways, so, I’m gonna implement a new rule to help prevent stupid deaths like this from ending runs completely. I’ll prove myself by surpassing my archer on a shaman, giving me a second chance at the boss. If I can beat it on both, then the archer will live on, and this thread will be where I go to revive my archer.)

Regardless of rules, I chose shaman this time for one important thing: Damage.
Shaman early game is absolutely busted; it can completely trivialize every single early game challenge until level 40. Perfect for proving this challenge possible.

Because I’ve already formatted the bosses above, I’m simply going to mention the proper road blocks below for the level ranges, as—I kid you not—this is so easy that death literally only comes from either server lag or me not paying attention to an enemy.

[The only possible challenge I could find was Taking the Tower, yet again. And, this has nothing to do with the boss. Rather, it’s the actual tower. Getting into it is a pain, needing to haul yourself onto specific points of the tower, effectively skipping the entire lower portion.

once that’s done, though, it’s trivial

    Current gear loadout:

    Macabre (Lvl: 8 Relik)
    Knee (Lvl: 9 Leggings)
    ]
Once again, no notable challenges, surprisingly. What was once a difficult roadblock for archer was nothing more than a run of the mill summoner sweep on shaman. One death later, our hardest roadblock is down, shaping this run to be much better suited for ease and leisure.

    Current gear loadout:

    Ivy Whip (Lvl: 19 Relik)
    Knee (Lvl: 9 Leggings)
    Stingy (Lvl: 20 Boots)
As previously stated, this range is nothing but a joke. Charon is hilariously bad at his job, and every other fight at this point is just a simple totem and aura away from death. Our only major roadblock was Haros, but, after simply changing our tree to better suit summoner + aura, it only took 2 tries to beat him. And, especially after getting thriller + Samurai Chestplate, we are beyond set to breeze through the next level range.

    Current gear loadout:

    Thriller (Lvl: 28 Relik)
    Brise (Lvl: 27 Helmet)
Dead Samurai’s Plate (Lvl: 24 Chestplate)
    Knee (Lvl: 9 Leggings)
    Stingy (Lvl: 20 Boots)
Everything to level 40 is baby googoogaga levels of easy. We have insane dps for this point of the game, surpassing 4k from a single relik. Everything seemed set to be perfect, until…

    Rymek Luke [Sunrise Canyon]

All hell broke loose. I have NEVER encountered anything like this in my life. You have exactly 4 seconds to set up before you are one shot. And, even if you do manage to set up your totem to deal damage, you are not gonna have enough walkspeed to outrun double shot. Mix this in with the .2 second delay haul has before launching, you are never going to time the dodge right. It doesn’t matter how you ready yourself, the resources you have leave you incapable of doing anything against Slimek Puke.

I was ready to give up. 30 attempts in and never lasting longer than 10 seconds. I tried defense, fanatic mask, puppet bombing, spamming haul, agility stack to max, nothing. There was no way to both damage Luke and still be able to dodge.
All hope seemed lost, until I saw a familiar icon in my inventory…

    My Brown Horse

Could it work? Could I outrun the projectiles on a horse? It didn’t hurt to try.

And, as anti climatic as it may seem, that’s all it took. Throw your totem, let puppets stack, and just circle around on your horse. Tbh, I don’t even think you can be hit while on the horse, it was so easy. One of the most difficult and fascinating early game road blocks, taken down to nothing by shaman summoner cheese. Truly, there was no better way to end this level range.

    Current gear loadout:

Thriller and Dune Kiln (Lvl: 28 and Lvl: 40 Reliks)
    Brise (Lvl: 27 Helmet)
Dead Samurai’s Plate (Lvl: 24 Chestplate)
    Knee (Lvl: 9 Leggings)
    Stingy (Lvl: 20 boots)

Just incase you didn’t know, on shaman, you seem to have put the 31-40 LvL range inside the 21-30 range.

Thanks for the shoutout! Also holy, you are progressing way faster than me, maybe due to how little I log on and me not being that good of a player.

I’m on a break rn, so I’ve got plenty of time between work and the day to just do the challenge. The only long parts, tbh, are level 30 onward, since levels become more scarce. 1-30 can be done in half an hour :)

The final thread for the dungeon items only challenge: archer. These are going to be the hardest possible challenges for this challenge, definitely needing a crap ton of patience for some of these bosses (looking at TCC).

    Let’s do it:
We will have the party /kill before the boss, in order to solo

Level 105: Grootslang Wyrm [Nest of the Grootslang] NOT DONE Deaths: 0

Level 105: Orphion [Nexus of Light] NOT DONE Deaths: 0

Level 105: The Canyon Colossus [The Canyon Colossus] NOT DONE Deaths: 0

    Level 105:
The Nameless Anomaly [The Nameless Anomaly] NOT DONE Deaths: 0

Level 105: LEGENDARY ISLAND [Legendary Island] NOT DONE—DEATHS: 0

    Buhhhhh….
