Lost My Account When I Logged Back In After a Couple Years

So I recently decided to hop back on the server after an astounding 8 years for nostalgia's sake and found that my player had been reset with the server prompting me to create a new character with no previous classes made. This may be due to some name changes that I have made in those 8 years which doesn't make sense since the server should link to my accounts UUID. Searching my old name from when I played shows that my previous account is still there, but it also shows my new account username for some reason. Is there any way I can get my progress back? I am using the same Minecraft account from when I played 8 years ago.

 

Did u try to finish tutorial and/or command /class?

 

Could be due to migration, Microsoft often created new accounts during the process thus new UUID etc, which was a big issue to many of our players

 

Is there a way to recover this? Or do I just cut my losses and start over again, which I don't mind since I havn't played in 8 years. But it would be nice to see my old character.
