Bob's weapons weren't meant to imply they had some origin in the realm of darkness or the expanse, they were just called Dernic based off the fact it meant "mysterious".

 

The word Dern has been thrown around since 2013 yes. Not sure when was the first time it was used, but the oldest example I recall was this really dark and spiky island in the middle of the ocean that used to be where current day Dead Island was. The island was referred to usually as "Dern Island" since the enemies in it were literally called "Dern emigrant" or stuff like that.

I don't have ton of opinions on this besides that I think that the new Yahya's fantasy skin looks considerably less trippy, which I dislike. Otherwise I think most of them are improvements. That said, I don't like the idea of major changes to paid cosmetics after the fact. I'm generally a fan of knowing what you're buying when you buy it, and I don't like the idea of paying for something and then having it changed after the fact. I can definitely see why people are upset with that, especially because many of the changes are fairly extreme and very much a matter of personal taste.

 

I am once again asking if anyone has pictures of the reworked cosmetics

I am really glad that the skins were reworked, their inconsistencies with the new cosmetics made them feel very outdated. My personal ideas for slight changes Id make would be:

Remove the pixels sticking out to match the older design and how the hats look in real life as well


Change the corrupted dagger to actually look like a dagger cause this is straight up a short staff, it actually would look pretty cool as a replacement for the corrupted staff as the new design looks really lackluster. Still a good looking skin

Also I think the frosty set looks great in terms of shape, it is just very under-detailed for black market tier, which a lot of people feel, as all the corrupted, dern, and frosty set were made with the same level of detail despite being of different rarities. They should be of the same detail level as the Boreal set in my opinion, especially since the new set doesn't actually look very icy since its lost from the lack of detail.


Those blue "icicles" around the edges are so bulky and look more like blue crosses. Its giving winter graveyard

No hate to whoever made these reworks, they look awesome, I just think a decent amount of people would appreciate some small tweaks

PS - I feel like these holiday lights are already outdated with the new design changes If they don't feel it now, they probably will in a few years


Also side rant: Why do assassins keep getting weapons skins other than daggers, I'm seeing staff looking skins, claws (make a bit more sense) swords?? Feels like half the assassin skins aren't even daggers

 

tbf half the default assassin skins are gauntlets and swords

 

hell no. The old design was a spiked mace, the new design is a morningstar.

 

I found the old mace to be odd too back in the day, but whatever, archers get a hand cannon so assassins can have this.

Still good for variation I guess

 

Warrior has scythes, polearms, pikes, spears, axes, hammers and the dullahan g-- dullahan guisa-- guisarme(?)

Assassin has daggers, swords, maces, gauntlets, nunchucks, and claws.

Archer has shortbows, longbows, repeaters, pistols, rifles, crossbows, and cannons

Point is they all have a lot of variety. Only one that is mostly consistent is Mage, which things almost always being staves of some form

 

i like the new models because they're at least consistent with minecraft voxel size wise

 

This is kind of the though thing when it comes to adding new classes
