RIP in pieces rainbowslap, you won't be missed. Nearly every single item used in high level builds for free SP (except Prowess) got nerfed bad, with only Spectrum getting a buff. Poor Blue Mask getting a hefty HP penalty instead of a skill points nerf.

The Morph nerf only applies to rainbowslapping a Stardust on non-Morph builds. The actual Morph set itself got a rebalance if nothing else, to make up for the removed Stat Points from the items, so you should still have the same stat bonus totals as if you had all 8 pieces before the SP nerfs.

Ok no, seriously, why make less builds viable? In what way did these builds hurt the gameplay of Wynncraft? I just don't get this change...

I know the goal is to balance rainbow as its used in a lot of builds, but please stop nerfing rainbow skillpoints. I imagine the intent here is to make people use builds other than rainbow, but you're just making the endgame (meta) itemization more varied, but not the builds themselves. in a perfect world you'd do a decent nerf to the (2-3x multiplier lol) that stacking str, dex, agi, def, skillpoints gets you, and bring the base damage up to compensate. Thats 100% the reason people stack these skillpoints so much at endgame, effective HP and damage are the most important stats in any rpg, so having 2-3x more of these is always gonna be something people balance their stats around.

at the very least, reduce the SP reqs across the board on endgame items, as that would 'give back' the item variety while keeping item nerfs the same, as i think item variety was in a good place before all the rainbow nerfs, unless the goal was to reduce build variety, in which case, why?

This was my first thought when seeing all these SP nerfs. I fear the current state of SP requirements on a lot of the endgame gear might render some gear practically unusable because now there isnt enough SP to go around to meet those requirements.

The current high SP requirements on some things feel like a way to try and battle the initial SP bloat, and now that the bloat is actually being tackled, shouldn't some of the SP requirements of those things come back down as well?

Idk, I guess I'll just watch and see what happens for now. I understand the SP bloat issue thats being addressed, it's just that likely many things were designed around the bloat when they were made like high SP requirements, so they need to be addressed at the same time.

Okay adding another comment bc after talking with friends, I think I understand better why this may get on peoples' nerves.

I would rather you do the nerfs and whole SP distribution/requirements readjustment that needs to be done all at once rather than dragging it out over many little updates. Or at least do it in chunkier portions. Because as of right now the bandage needs to be ripped off all at once instead of painfully doing it a little at a time over many many patches.

More people are tired of having to constantly change their builds for every patch because of this. It's wearing people down. They just want to make a build and have it stay the same long enough for them to actually play the game instead of having to go back to brainstorm a new build every two weeks because it keeps getting little changes. Its difficult to get friends to play because every time they return after a couple weeks break they have to spend up to an hour trying to fix their build before they can even play.

So while yes the SP changes will be for the better health of the game in the long run, we understand that, oh my god please its constantly changing and i just want. To play the game.

I see the reasoning for most of these. Rainbow slap is just too strong compared to almost everything else at this point. If you aren't using rainbow slap, you're just sacrificing damage and ehp for no real benefit. But this feels almost like a knee-jerk reaction from the item team to nerf what is the obvious meta build, without bothering to address why it's so prevalent in the first place.

The problem with the changes, in my ever so humble opinion, is that nerfing the results doesn't really remove the reasons for slapping rainbow in the first place. As it is, stacking all of the skill points is better than nearly any IDs you can get. If you're a dex build trying to get more damage, slapping something with strength will often do more damage than using something with % thunder damage. If you're a tank (that's another discussion), a few points in agility will do more for your ehp than more health. On my mage, I personally use a rainbow slap build because if I use my primary build choice (t/w/f) I'd be doing dramatically less damage, have less ehp, and worse or similar mana sustain. It's kind of a no-brainer at this point.

There's a secondary reason as well; I've played around with all kinds of builds in that and other elemental combinations, and it's so much easier to get the skill points to work with rainbow slap. These changes might fix that, but that remains to be seen. As it is right now, if you need skill points in 3 stats, it often makes sense to just put them in all 5 stats, since you just get more bonuses, and the gear itself is typically easier to get. It also means neat stuff like dragon dance is just not that good, because the -skill points frequently outweigh the bonuses the gear itself gives. There's no better example of this than the hive master items. I would absolutely love to use a ton of those in my builds. They're all really decent gear, that has a lot of ability to shape how a build works and that all feel like a strong reward for for beating one of the toughest bosses in the game. Oh, except for the fact that in the majority of situations, they're so much worse than rainbow slap it's laughable. Instead of really strong gear they're at best one-trick ponies, and at worst less effective than another item that does the same thing. It's usually better to use one of the accessories, because those work on all builds.

I wish that they would partially revert the rebalance to strength and dexterity so that stacking them wasn't so darn much better than just having one, make it so that having just ability and no defense wasn't effectively playing Russian roulette without high walkspeed, and give a reason for anyone to want to stick to fewer than 5 skill points. Changing the decreasing rewards for skill points or giving benefits for reaching certain levels of a skill point would be my favorite options, but I'm sure there are more. Just give me a reason to invest 20 points in dexterity instead of 10 points in dexterity and 10 points in strength.

Late from the second last rainbow changes, but I just realized my Nullification which I bought in like June had an amazing >800% summed elemental defense got its IDs consolidated into a measly low rng roll of 60%. Lol. Seriously though, are these changes healthy for the game?

Tbh, I don't understand the morph nerfs. It's the most basic functioning armor set there is for new and non-wealthy players. The gap between morph and and an actual build already was fairly large, and now that gap is larger. New players should have something that's easy to get and somewhat viable to effectively participate in all of the endgame content there is.

please correct me if I'm wrong but full morph lost a net total 24 skill points.

Edit: I failed to multiply the set bonus to all stats by 5. Nevermind everything I've said.
