If you're here to comment on how fruitless my Class suggestion is, I fully know that they're gonna turn this down. But one can imagine Sugjester happy, to leave this in the hands of others once we have to move on from Wynncraft. Click the spoilers for deeper info on the Class, because it's good to clarify those exact details that when discussing how Items could be made for it.

Between sessions of programming my own game, I've been working on refurbishing the concepts of a Class suggestion which is themed around adding some light technology and explosives to the base roster. (In other words, what Shaman is for Totem-Magicks, but steampunk stuff instead.) My old names for them were "Pilot," "Grenadier," and "Bombardier," but none of them went the whole ninety-nine yards necessary to even be considered. This time, I'm coming up with Item suggestions to go along with the Class, including a Weaponsmithing recipe, five Mythics, three early-game Item Sets, generic groundwork Items, and more.

The current name of this Class idea's Main Weapon is the Blaster, making Items based on small cannons, dynamite, volatile potions, and more all fair game. I'm going with the name Blaster because it offers the greatest umbrella of things which can fall underneath it's category, so 3 years from now we aren't arguing what belongs to a Cannoneer Class or a Demolitioner Class. The mechanics of the Blaster are nothing complex - just Left Click to throw out a bomb which hits a 5x5 area (2.5 block radius) and does self-damage about equal to the default Arrow Bomb.

We've established that there basically *aren't any guns or similar firearms in Wynncraft (and I'm okay that they (probably?) don't exist), but apparently one of Shaman's new Mythics is meant to be a Handheld Mortar which lobs Totems instead of explosive artillery shells. Archer's getting a Major ID involving nuclear Fallout as a result of radioactive Arrow Bombs, and Salted knows what else is actually industrial that I've missed out on by not reaching Corkus Island yet.

Currently some details I've gathered is:
    • 80% overlap with existing Weapon names is fine (but no 100% overlap, IE: a Dagger and Spear both having the exact same name)
    • It may or may not be necessary to round up the names of every Weapon in the game and Ctrl+F whenever I come up with a new Blaster idea to make sure that 100% overlap never happens in concepting.
    • Nothing past the current industrial stuff, and generally make it rare if you DO decide to (assume Handheld Mortar is NOT the standard for things a Weapon can get away with, it's literally a Mythic)
    • Reference what Reliks do from time to time (since Shamans and soldiers which specifically use Blasters would be about equal in rarity in Wynncraft's setting)
    • A handful of items are related to specific Elements, granting non-combat stats like Stealing or EXP Bonus at a hefty price, etc.
    • There may or may not already be a Weapon with the name "Blaster," but it's a relative "non-issue" because of the Reliks having permission to poke some fun at their own names. (Elemental Relic Reliks are what I'm citing here)
Well, TL;DR: If anyone could make a list of what's in-bounds or expected of a Class as far as general Weapon Item theming goes, I'd really appreciate it!

Also, a slight warning: I didn't really proofread this post; sorry if I missed something or sound off-my-rocker for a Level 53 Shaman.

    * EDIT 1: Yes, there is actually. In the official artwork one of the new characters are holding a gun, so it's just not players which are allowed them AFAIK. Fair enough, honestly - but the point of "no guns for Classes" still stands.

Well actually said character is a Boss Altar mob called Rymek Luke, who drops the fabled bow "Deadeye", which is canonically a gun.

Honestly I feel like I arrived just in time/a few years late to the party of Wynn devs dropping cool stuff into the game like this, meanwhile I'm sitting here thinking "hmmmm from a ragni/fruma/early game's sparse lore perspective how plausible is this new class' features?". The game is so huge now that it's difficult to not be met with "technically we don't need this because it's already in the game, just not wielded by players in any sense."

Why'd you say this? Like, genuinely.

(I didn't mean that because it already exists there shouldn't be more variety, I was just saying that yeah, nuclear bombs (and probably less powerful ones) are allowed in Wynn.)

Because putting it in General Suggestions won't do anything. It'd be better to post it as a concept you came up with rather than a suggestion for the server you yourself admit to won't be considered. It deserves to be in a subforum showing off your creativity rather than as a post that could potentially drown out actual suggestions

How many of the posts in general suggestions ever get implemented? The community knows what General Suggestions is for.
