i think that 2.1 will be a very cool update

 

Funny, I was just about to say that everyone I've spoken to has said it was "fun" and "cool".

In fact, most of them have attempted to tell me I should start playing again purely for 2.1, that it's worth coming back to despite me having put down the game indefinitely as far as I see it.

 

maybe its a pun and the update is focused entirely on the ice islands

 

Update: Wynncraft's twitter recently said that 2.1 should hopefully be revealed sometime before summer. Idk if this means before June as that's what I usually interpret to be the start of summer culture-wise, or if its before the summer solstice, which is when summer starts on a seasonal basis. Regardless, if I had to guess an ETA for this, I'd probably say some time before the end of 2024.

EDIT: there's also this image, some potential ideas for it I just thought of:

• Better Copper Gem (if it is this then it could mean a prof rework)

 

Looking on discord, I feel like people are drastically underpredicting what will be added in this update. In all my time on Wynncraft, I've never seen an update be advertised as something that "all minecraft players will be interested in". This would make it seem like 2.1 would focus on the earlygame to make it more appealing to new player... if not for the fact that Salted told an endgame player to stay tuned for the next update. Which leads me to believe that 2.1 must be one of the following:

1) The addition of an entirely new way to play, whether you're joining for the first time or are an endgame player.

2) Something specifically for endgame players, as well as something guaranteed to get new players... like bedrock support. I know Salted said "no bedrock" on discord, but I distinctly remember him saying 2.0 wouldn't change spells at all. I firmly believe that bedrock support is inevitable due to how many new players it would bring in, and it's just a matter of when, not if, it's added.

I can see the resemblance, but I think it's supposed to be a symbol of a flame. That would explain why Salted used the fire emoji in the post and why you can react to it with a fire emoji on the Discord.

To me, it looks like some sort of gem, with all those sharp angles it has...

I wouldn't be surprised if there was also an ice gem, since it's the opposite of fire, and the GM's have been teasing us by saying the update is very "cool" (probably to be taken literally).

 

If I had to guess what the gems could mean (along with the mentions of stuff like temperature), I wonder if this is teasing a WynnExcavation rework since there's a crystal in a cold-ish biome and one that transformed the entire landscape of an island. It could also be going after a whole dated quest revamp. I'd love to see the lore of some regions (mainly the Nemract Swamp since, well. there's pretty much no lore there aside from Charon destroyed Ancient Nemract) post-2.1.

 

a Wynnexcavation rework is something that needs to happen, the old quests are extremely outdated and there is no scripting whatsoever in it, it's bound to get a rework at some point. I also think Temple of Legends is gonna get some improvements, like a new COW skin, scripting, and improved builds. In general the jungle quests definitly need a rework, I wouldn't be suprised if that was the first region in wynn they update the lore of since it has no secret discoveries yet.

 

I for one hope for more loot caves :D Love those guys
