Why are ranged mobs so overpowered? (Or why do they feel this way?)

I've played a bit on a shaman and a warrior and I'm consistently running into the issues of ranged mobs vastly overpowering me even when they are likely not intended to. Rymek Luke took me until level 54 to properly beat (it's a level 40 arena), the mobs in tower of ascension are extremely easy until ranged mobs spawn, and I consistently get stunlocked and destroyed by them on my warrior even at the equivalent level.

Is there some mechanic I don't know about for negating projectile damage, or is the game simply balanced this way for other reasons?

Ranged mobs are generally harder to deal with since kiting isn't as much of an option. Warrior is particularly weak to them since it has pretty meager ranged options. If you go down the paladin path, you can pick up some good resistance perks that can help with tanking hits from them, and if you go down battlemonk you get some mobility to help take them out easier. Other than that there isn't a ton that can be done

As for Rymek Luke, that's also because boss altars are meant to be pretty difficult at-level.

OOOH ok, I was already planning on trying the paladin path for the sacred perk set so I'll definitely look at that. Thank you so much dude!
