SPOILER Cancelled/Unreleased Content Speculation Thread

Hey yall, so I wanted to make a thread where we could discuss possibly cancelled or unreleased content that may or may not have been meant to have come in Wynncraft. I'll start, It seems like the Gavel Update was going to have much more than it ended up adding. First of all the Infamous Ragnar quest that we know barely anything about, there's also Gavel Dungeons which were meant to happen but were replaced with Raids. Ingame Cinematics were also planned, as well as bosses and possible mobs with custom models, all of which were seen in the first Gavel trailer. We also know about the Mortal Mountain dungeon which ended up becoming TCC, though there were screenshots of this Dungeon's builds at some point, they are now no longer visible for some reason. If anyone has anything else they know was originally planned but never got added ingame, or didn't get added until much later on than they were supposed to, please post it in this thread.

 

apparently a 6th class was supposed to be released together with shaman, though it wasnt cancelled entirely and might be released in the future

 

Oh yeah! I remember that video of Salted talking about a 6th class. I wonder what it would have been/will be. Also if anyone has any information about The Mortal Mountain dungeon please post in in this thread.

 

There are images from a cancelled karroc quarry and dullahan raid in the discord (don’t have the images myself atm) if someone wants to find them and post them here

 

Oh there are? That's interesting, did they say when the Dullahan/ Karroc Quarry Raid would have been released?

 

The crypt mystery under Great Bridge got scrapped, heard rumors because someone leaked it

 

I believe that before the silent expanse there was music made for dern. Oh and there’s also some unused silent expanse music on YouTube as well. There’s an early version of “Genesis of The End” though it’s not a full track. There’s also “the final flame” which corpe posted as part of his ust. And in the description he said that it was meant for the game, so a Gareheth boss may have been planned though we don’t know for sure.

 

This build has been around for so long that I forgot when it was added. It had to have some planned use at some point, maybe it still does considering it's never been removed - although I can understand keeping it around for decoration. Random stuff with no clear purpose can be nice if the builds are good and they get the player wondering about the world that the developers created.

 

i remember in 2013-14 finding that building (it was a lot smaller then) and thinking that there must be something in it and it had to have some kind of secret or purpose but even to this day it's still just a building.

 

The clock mystery is currently unreleased

 

Dungeon modifiers were teased in the build up to either 2.0 or 1.20 but never made it to the game.

Also world bosses are a weird one: 1 was added to the emerald trail (hinting that more were coming in the future), then after a few updates, the text that said 'Miniboss discovered 1/1: Ragni outskirts' or whatever it said, disappeared.
Kinda makes sense though as boss altars are already a thing.

 

Yeah I think they are still gonna update the dungeons, I sense that Timelost Sanctum and Infested Pit are next when it comes to updating dungeons, I think the reason why they haven't done it yet is because they probably plan to rework most of the Dungeons. As for World Bosses, It's weird that we haven't had more of those yet, I feel like they may still add more of those in the future but i'm not sure. And yeah, the Ternaves Prison is something they probably won't do anything with, there's already a lot of content for the early game, they are probably gonna focus on the Endgame now. Though I would love for them to visit the idea of the Ternaves Prison someday.

 

the door for the abandoned excavations discovery was around for a while and always seemed unusually grand to me, ive wondered if it could have been planned to be a dungeon at one point

This is something that wasn't exactly canceled, but it did get removed: there was an End Portal in that surface cave between Ternaves and the Abandoned Mines.

 

Oh yeah I heard about that end portal, I think The Realm Of Dern was originally going to be based off of The End, so that was likely an extremely Dern portal. There's a painting texture that sort of looks like some kind of dark beast, maybe it's the Dern beast. Here's the painting right here actually.

 

You do know there's a Gareheth fight in game, yeah...?

Timelost Sanctum hasn't even been in game for a year, it is an updated dungeon.

I apologize for my colossal screw up, when it comes to timelost sanctum and infested pit I meant they would probably be next to get Dungeon Modes like Galleon's Graveyard has. And as for the Garaheth Fight, yeah I forgot about that, I guess that track may have been meant for it then, or something else, only one who probably knows is Corpe. Probably should have elaborated further about this before, My bad.

 

Ok i dug up the images nip_nop posted that were originally from #hero_beta (rest in peace all the useful and fun information in that channel (until next beta))

These were for 1.20 (although the quarry build in particular looks way outdated for that, might just be a rough draft build idk)

Edit: actually im not confident whether the quarry was originally built for 1.20 or closer to original gavels release, the dullahan build in comparison looks more like something that could have been built closer to 1.20

Wow, this is all amazing

The fact that these screenshots exist at all gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, there may be more information about Ragnar as well, and maybe even screenshots of The Mortal Mountain Dungeon.
