A question about IDs

What does it mean when the ID says, say, 5/3s poison, or 8/5s mana regen? I thought the S means seconds like 5/3s poison is 5 poison per 3 seconds, or for 8/5s mana regen you regain 8 mana every 5 seconds, but what is it really, am I right or wrong?

poison means poison damage and it's divided by 3. So 6/3 poison will do 2 damage per second for 3 seconds.

 

wait is it EVERY 3 seconds or FOR 3 seconds. For mana regen and stuff its EVERY 3 seconds right? but for poison and other stuff its the first number divided by 3 every second for the second number of seconds? what?

 

for mana regen it is over the course of five seconds constantly

for poison, when it is activated, the total divided by 3 every second for 3 seconds

oh wait so poison always deals the first number total, because it is ALWAYS 3 seconds?

 

yes poison is always 3 seconds. mana regen is always five seconds. mana and life steal are always /3s
