Questions for returning player

Hey all, my friends have started playing again, so naturally I've come back too (after 8-9 years).

I've been running around doing random quests as a mage (think I went arcanist), and went from 91-97. I feel really weak doing lootruns (I failed the one I did is Sky Islands) and fighting bosses with 100k+ health. I have a few questions as a returning player.

1) Are there any quests I sohuld go back and complete that are worth it?
2) considering purchasing hero rank, is it worth it?
3) where can I find some build for arcanist, or what should my playstyle be getting items?
4) I feel really weak defensively and just spam potions, is this normal or should I be healing from other sources (my heal spell is replaced with the mana overflow)?
5) I bought a white horse and have around 55 LE left, how should I spend/save it?

 

I would say start a new class, and definitely do the new early game content. In the last 8 YEARS, it has definitely changed a lot. For the others, idk

Lootruns are scaled for more experienced players and the endgame

 

Tons of quests have been reworked for the better in the last 8 years. Some notable examples imo would be the Canary Calls, Hollow Serenity (new Hollow Sirene), The Breaking Point (new Fortuneteller), and too many others to count.

Depends exactly what you want from it. I got it for Beta access but your reasons for or not purchasing could be different. I would look at it on the store page.

You should check the Class Builds subforum, and you could also ask there. You could also hop into the Wynncraft discord and ask in the #class-builds channel. I'm not too sure what the last part is asking, but if it is getting items, there is no specific playstyle for getting as many items as you can from what I've seen, though I could be wrong on this so take it with a grain of salt.

Arcanist's main price to pay for spellspam is the lack of heal spell, so using up a lot of heal pots should be normal, but if you feel like you use them too often, then you should be more strategic and less reckless with your playstyle.

I would save it and make sure that you spend large amounts of money only for items to upgrade your build or if there are other very useful items.

Lootruns are incredibly overturned for someone who doesn't have a proper build for completing them, usually above level 100. They're sort of the main repeatable endgame content at the moment.

I do recommend maybe starting a new class as a lot has changed. If you don't want to, I'd just generally go back and do any quest you don't already have completed.

Hero rank has some great perks, and if you think they're worth it to you, then buy it. If you think they're worth a bit less, buy it on sale. If you don't think they're worth it, don't. That's a value judgement you've gotta make. If you don't already have VIP/VIP+, you can regularly get those for a pretty low cost, and they give a lot of the perks, so they may be more worthwhile.

The class builds section of the forums can get you any build you want and it may even work. As for playstyle, that's largely up to you, but in general for arcanist it's spam spells until your fingers stop working.

For healing, with arcanist you want to be using health regen or lifesteal ideally, to decrease the amount of potions you need to chug. Arcanist does tend to be a little squishy, so it also might be worth investing in defense or agility to help mitigate that.

Save it unless you have something you wanna buy. That much can get you a pretty build, so you may want to wait until you have a build in mind and then spend it on that. Or, do what I do and buy random things that look neat and upon further examination are utterly useless.
