Few new player questions

So uhm i just started out as arch and got some decent stuff etc. During my experience a few questions came up:

I heard dying makes you loose your items? How do i prevent this from happening, i wouldnt want sth like a mythic item or so get lost

The only thing what makes a difference class wise is the weapon and ability right?
so if i switch class i can keep ability tree and points as far as i know (?) and i keep my inventory?
Meaning if im arch (breeze, 29dps) and i got a crustacean (58dps), it would make sense to switch to shaman till i get better arch weapon?

what is like roughly the next thing to do, im currently doing the infested plants quest and did sewers already

How does the rare galaxy piercer have lower dps as the unique breeze or is unique better than rare? Cause most of my rare items are better than my unique ones i think

The more you die, the more items you lose. In your 9th hotbar slot, there are these annoying things called soul points, you can hover over them in your inventory to see how much you will lose when you die.

You cannot switch classes. You can make new ones, but they start fresh.

There's this nifty thing in your 8th hotbar slot called the content book, you can use it to see what you can do next. I'd recommend sorting it using the icons at the bottom so that it is filtered to show you only quests.

Rare items are rarer than unique. DPS isn't the only thing that makes up a weapon. They have stats such as health, mana regen, and skill point boosts that can affect you in other ways.

 

Okay, first of all thanks a lot,
i still dont get how this works with dying and losing items. This game has rng drops right? Or like endgame expensive rare stuff. And you can just loose it anytime? No protection?

+ lets say im playing archer and i get the rarest/best idk mage or warrior weapon, what do i do with it? Sell it?

 

The more soul points you have, the less likely you are to drop items on death, it only really gets bad when you’ve died a bunch of times in a row.
Some items also never drop on death (quest/untradable, horses, mythics, items inside pouches, emerald pouches).
If you’re ever really low on souls, you can use a soul point timer https://uwynn.github.io/sptime/ and /hub to swap to worlds that are about to have a sunrise. This way you can farm souls back to avoid losing stuff.

And if you happen to get a really good/rare weapon for another class then it’s up to you if you want to sell it for the money or keep it for another playthrough.

How do i keep them for another playthrough?

 

You put them in the account bank, which is accessible to all your classes. (Except Ironman Challenge Classes.)

 

Oh so i can transfer items between classes? That means if i got the best mage weapon as arch it would make sense to switch to mage as i keep the item

 

You can have multiple classes (and switch items between them), but levels, quests, dungeons, etc. are all at zero when you start a new one.
