Trade market returning sold items?

Often when i collect profit from a sold item in the TM for some reason it gives me the item instead of the money, and it definitely says 'sold'.
Why is this? is it common?

Ive tried a billion times to get it on camera but of course it never happens then. I guess i might as well just start recording every single time i try to collect my profit.

 

It means that a time has passed so it gives you your item back to resell (so the market is not filled with old items)

well then why does it say sold

 

Because they didn't make "sale ended" tag, so it just used "sold" as the default for every time where an item is no longer listed for sale.
