why are there random item names in chat

why do people say random item names (like "tol rune" or "corkian amplifier") in the chat all the time

 

Player ghosts have been bugged like that as far back as I'm aware of, basically when you are asked to type something in chat, like to shout or in this case search the trade market, it only suppresses your message for your world. Everyone with ghosts on in other worlds will see the message anyways.
Basically, you're seeing other people's trade market searches.

 

it has long been a tradition to say the name of your favourite item(s) in chat for all to see. join in.

I did this once and I got a msg from someone telling me the item was untradeable, so I'd say 10/10 feature tbh.

 

once my friend said smth while building their housing with no one else on and some random guy replied saying to fuck off or smth rude like that iirc so yea housing does seem to bug out sometimes (at least chatwise) idk how
