    Hey everyone,

I am currently leveling my assassin and fell inlove with the smoke bombs. They just feel so satisfying while grinding away. So I was trying to create a build that maximizies their potential, while also having a sustain. The idea was to use this build primarily for lootrunning or grinding. In the end I came up with this build and would be interested in a feedback from others as I can not completely try it myself. Though the abilities work great together starting level 52.

    Build:
WynnBuilder Link: Follows as soon as I can post links :grimacing:

    WynnBuilder Gear:
    Sequencer (a6a6w6)
    Thanos Legionair Plate (a6a6w6)
    Greaves of the Veneer (t6)
    Skidbladnir (a6a6t6)
    Ingress
    Cacophony
    Flashfire Gauntlet
    Abrasion
    Weathered (w6w6a6)

    Attributes:
    Assign Total
    Strength: 42 55
    Dexterity: 8 15
    Intelligence: 10 15
    Defense: 43 80
    Agility: 97 130

    Abilities:
    Spin Attack
    Dagger Proficiency
    Double Spin
    Dash; Double Slice
    Smoke Bomb; Cheaper Dash; Multihit
Earth Mastery; Thunder Mastery; Fire Mastery; Air Mastery
    Vanish; Stick Bomb; Fatality
    Surprise Strike; Mirror Image; Lacerate
    Wall of Smoke
    Psithurism
Better Smoke Bomb; Shadow Travel; Cheaper Multihit
    Distraction
    Cheaper Smoke Bomb; Blazing Powder
    Sandbagging
    Violent Vortex; Delirious Gas
    Marked
    Ambush

    Damage Potential:
    Unbuffed:
    Melee DPS: 8,5k
    Lacerate: 13k
    Multihit: 18k
    Smoke Bomb: 42k

    Delirious Gas + 4 Marks:
    Melee DPS: 14,8l
    Lacerate: 22,5k
    Multihi: 31,3k
    Smoke Bomb: 73,7k

Fully Buffed (Delirious Gas, 4 Marks, Lvl 5 Curse, Surprise Strike, Dogde Buff 72% Air Damage):
    Melee DPS: 48,7k
    Lacerate: 73,8k
    Multihi: 104,3k
    Smoke Bomb: 234,6k

    Playstyle:
Mobstack / Stationary Bossfight: You want to stack your Smoke Bombs on top of each other and circle around the stacked mobs / boss, while Auto-Attacking and Multihitting. Vanish CD and Smoke Bombs duration almost line up perfectly, so that you can maximize the damage of each set of smoke bombs with suprise strike, 40% dmg boost in Smoke Bombs and Curse. Multihit helps a lot of keeping mobs in place as long as they are not resistant against the CC.

Range Mobs / Mobile Bossfight: Throw your smoke bombs in away that they cover a lot of ground for you to move around in and still keep the dmg buff up. Due to the increased range of the bombs you can also clear ranged enemies on ledges. In this scenario you should use your Surprise Strike with Multihit for maximum damage potential.

If necessary you can retreat with vanish and regenerate during the whole duration, while also having extra protection via the clones afterwards. And Lacerate provides possible additional movement and protection via blind.

Final Comment: As I said, I couldn't test this build yet and it is merely based on my knowledge about the game and leveling with my assassin. There are probably better builds out there but I will try this once I am 105. I am already using the Abilities for Grinding, which is just fun.

I would be very interested in your feedback on what to improve or if this is even viable at all.

    Thank you for reading,
    NoxAko

Questionable item choices aside, you can't get that tree in the game. Like, at any level.

Could you please explain why not? Because currently I am level 78 and have most of the talents. My missing 8 talent points would be enough for the last 4 talents: Blazing Powder, Sandbagging, Delirious Gas and Distraction. There are also no current ingame requirements that would stop me from getting them as far as I can see.

As a side note, I am currently using this ability build as far as possible together with the Champion and Jester Set. And it feels great tbh. Of course there are still some mana sustain issues if I use vanish a lot since I am missing Weathereds special. But other than that I can easily switch between aggressive and defensive playstyle, while sustaining a good damage output in both situation.

You're just picking the "best" abilities on the tree, but many of them block each other. You physically can't choose that combination of abilities

    https://wynnbuilder.github.io/build...+0+070H1G251g00001004fU0z0z0+0+0+0+0-jVlKxNvG
    WynnBuilder build:
    > Sequencer
    > Thanos Legionnaire Plate
    > Greaves of the Veneer
    > Skidbladnir
    > Ingress
    > Cacophony
    > Flashfire Gauntlet
    > Abrasion
    > Weathered [a6w6w6]

    - - - - -

though even if you're able to, i can't see this tree/build being effective

very questionable item selection & ability tree, low damage, high ehp but low mobility to dodge mobs, high spell cost with low mana sustain etc

the "damage potential" also has a bit of errors, since Surprise Strike only buffs the first tick of damage you deal when you go outside of vanish, which means the dmg on every ability you listed is a lot higher on wynnbuilder than in actual ingame

    Thank you for the feedback.

In regards to the gear, I definitely have to revisit that once I reach the appropriate level and define more focused goals. Especially I have to see how lure interacts with my current playstyle and what I might need to switch up in gear to counteract potential negatives. Mana sustain is very depending on how much dps I want to force. Just dropping Smoke Bombs plus one Multihit and a vanish while autoattacking is not breaking the bank, but anymore than that is problematic.

The "Damage Potential" I can see as an issue. And it was something I already thought might be an issue given some playing around with the combat dummy. It is a bit ambiguous in the ability tree description I think with "The next attack." as that can mean the next damage that you inflict or the next ability you use, but it makes sense when thinking about the shadesteppers supposed playstyle.

Given that, I might readjust the ability tree to see if it would be potentially better for me to switch things up, but generally speaking I quite like the playstyle the ability tree enables me to have. Bosses are a bit fidgety if they move too much but being able to drop the smoke bombs and then kite everything around in them is just fun. But it definitely will not be a cookie cutter build for everyone.

it can be fun, but the gameplay with the build you're suggesting won't be effective for lootrunning
it's not really a level of preference at this point

i suggest trying out the general playstyles before you go use this at endgame(especially acrobat)

Thank you for the advice. I will certainly play around before I commit to anything in endgame. If only because Weathered is not cheap for a newer player and I want to be certain that I have a good use-case for it. While the build posted here might have been very sub par, your advice gave me a lot of insight on how to improve up on it in the future.

photon is the ring you get from ROL questline. I know i'm using no damage it's mostly mana regen. I can stay in the air permanently, but can't do real damage
