SPOILER What is everything we know about Fruma?

So, what is everything we know about Fruma? As it is a hyped province, I thought it would be neat if there was a collection of all the information we know about it in a single location (here?).

We could possibly come up with new theories/realizations from all the stuff we know.

I'll start with what I know:

- Humans originate from Fruma.
- Fruma is populous. This is stated by the wiki but also common sense. It is in a pretty small place for a province after all, and they are pumping out a lot of recruits. The slums seen in Recover the Past also look fairly dense, and most notably small.

From this, we can already tell Fruma is possibly poor, despite the impressive gate facing Corkus.

- Fruma is imperialist?
- Fruma has a queen.
- Criminals in Fruma are somehow brainwashed so that they forget everything about Fruma and are sent as recruits to fight in Wynn.

- A small number of non-Frumans know about Frumas existence, though nobody really knows much about it directly.
- The Seaskipper has visited the Fruma gate, but has not been allowed in just like the player and pretty much everybody.
- The Corkians, despite having come from Fruma do not ever tell the player any information about it or talk about it much (if they do at all). This is odd because as refugees, they most likely bypassed the brainwashing system.
- The Corkians lose their memory of life in Fruma after exiting Fruma?
- Seaskipper says Fruma is not a nice place to live in, according to rumours

Okay so from this. Fruma REALLY does not want people knowing about what's going on inside. There is clearly some major problem, whether its the ruler, overpopulation or something else...
Also, I get the idea of overpopulation from a few factors (just as I have for most of the deductions (right word?) in this post): dense, small slums; small and enclosed territory; their willingness to provide so many recruits to Wynn despite the two provinces seemingly not having much of a relation to each other (in the modern day). Like, unless there are some unknown areas south of Wynn, there are only two passages between Wynn and Fruma. The ocean gate which is just blocked, and the recruit passage which is one way, and not for trading or immigration/tourism.

- Sohso, the fourth brother of Yahya, Mehme and Nohno apparently travelled to Fruma. Okay? Well, he's a villager. And um the fact it was mentioned probably is because he was successful. Otherwise, why would they add that dialogue, you know? (pls actually be there lol).

Content stuff:

- From [Lv. 105] up to, but not certainly [Lv. 120].
- CT member said Fruma is after Silent Expanse (and before Dern???) for a reason. It's not just a random choice, and they have the story planned for that. So, somehow Fruma will allow us to enter the portal to Dern... Interesting. (source: my balls. no but actually I saw it if you search up Fruma on youtube and google and scroll for 500 pages you will find it I swear)
- Fruma is endgame (Duh, I'm just reading off the wiki here)
- There won't be a lack of content, so lots of quests. This possibly means we will do some pretty good stuff for Fruma, or there will be quite the involved process of being able to get into that damn portal.
- Now of course there will be a lootrun camp there (or two?). But wait. How the f* did Silverbull get into Fruma? Hehe, lets not discuss that (UNLESS YOU WANT TO, FEEL FREE!!). After all there is already the Silent Expanse Expedition.

Ok if you read through this, nice. You probably found a lot of info is missing, which is kind of why I created this post; so we can get as much info in one place. So please comment with any information you know about whats behind those walls :)

Also something to note, in a book in the relos library it is stated that the corkians lost memory of fruma after crossing the mountains

Also there is a dern portal in SE for a reason. Unless dern is fruma I don’t suppose there is a way into another realm from fruma

I mean magic from Fruma made the corkians lose their memories possibly, which is interesting because why would they need to do the thing to the recruits but for people who just leave they automatically lose their memory without interaction.

 

This theory probably won't be true, but it's definitely interesting to think that Dern is Fruma. This would explain why they don't want anyone to know what's in there, and the Fruma Queen might possibly be the Dern Beast. At the same time though this theory has too many plot holes, so you know, it's just a theory.

This could be because we meet up with Aledar for SE, we will probably meet up with Tasim for Fruma, as we meet him last at recover the past, and he says he will meet us again, foreshadowing Fruma

 

He says he’s going to Gavel though. So we might return to Gavel, or we simply never see Tasim again.

 

Maybe fruma has a bread shortage and the bread questline will end in bread enthusiast saving the province and ineviteably opening dern due to dern beast wanting to consume fruma delicious bread. (This is currently the main theory, don't try to prove otherwise)

And also now we can feed wynn soldiers with the bread, corruption solved, dern beast satisfied, universal peace restored by bread enthusiast

 

What if they're from Fruma, and they use Wynn/Gavel to do their business?

 

A friend and I had an idea of how fruma might tie into the main storyline. We theorized that a hunters call would have one additional stage added to it, about traveling to the fruman royal palace and stealing a magic artifact that would allow bakal to unseal the dern portal in SE. This would give the player a premonition about the artifact and set them on their quest to retrieve it and unseal the portal to travel to dern and beat down the beast themselves. I feel if this is unlikely to happen but I thought it would be cool.

Also, a pretty important source of info on fruma is the quest Recover the Past (Lv. 25). It was reworked in 2.0.3 and now shows some cool things if you'd care to go look. I'm assuming you haven't played it yet based on the fact that you did not seem to mention much about it besides the brainwashing process and the slums (which were present in the old version). It has some details in it that I haven't seen many people bring up that I'd like to see discussion about, too.

 

that is definitely not happening. The scenarios in AHC are what-ifs, based on stuff the player has already encountered. Adding something that the player doesn't even know about would go completely against the set convention for the scenarios in A Hunter's Calling. Not to mention, why would an artifact in the royal palace of all places open the Dern Portal?

 

It's because the Fruma Queen is actually going to turn out to be Qira and is revealed to be her secret life that no one in Fruma questions because they don't know about the Hive in Gavel and no one in Gavel questions because they don't know about Fruma stuff

This is going to eventually tie in to Dern because the player will discover in a plot twist that Fruma Queen/ Qira is actually a physical projection projected from the Dern Beast all the way from the Realm of Darkness in order to accelerate the spread of Darkness (An infection we will see a large abundance of splotches of in Fruma)
