How do you start lootrunning?

Yall ive seen a bunch of people talking about lootrunning but i have no idea what it is or how to start. i am a lvl 43 newbie. whats the best lootrun i can do and how do i start?

 

You can start at lvl 85 i believe, there are a bunch of challenges you can do after you start one and at the end you get purple items sometimes

 

At its core, lootrunning is running around the map opening chests, in the hope of getting good loot (especially mythics). At level 43, you won’t be able to do any “official” lootruns, but you can still use the content book to find and explore caves, collecting the loot and XP you get. I believe that the Nesaak Forest and the Llevigar Plains would be good places to start.

Once you are level 75, you can sign up to become a lootrunner at the Silverbull Headquarters, just outside of Cinfras. After that, you will be able to do an official lootrun with a special system and a reward chest at the end.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the current lowest level lootrun is level 85-90, not 75. Technically you can start at level 75 but it will be quite difficult.

 

Lootrunning is a lategame/endgame activity, and as such it requires you to be way higher level. I recommend starting at around level 90.

You need to have explored all the caves in the region you want to lootrun in. Even in Corkus, there is one lvl 100 cave so you cannot start lootrunning until you get to 100. They mentioned wanting to add more lootrun camps in the future, but they will probably be at Sky Islands / Molten Heights. I hope they do add options to lootrun at lower levels at some point.

Like others have already said, don't worry about lootrunning just yet, focus on leveling up and experiencing the game, do your quests and maybe try yourself at some boss altars and dungeons. If you want to find loot in chests, explore all the caves at your level, you can find them in your quest book. After the recent update, they also grant a bit of xp which is neat for leveling.

 

That's just the recommended level. You're able to explore any cave you want to at any level.

 

Huh, you're right. Do you know for certain that it also counts for the lootrun camps? I just finished a cave that was above my level on a lower level char. I did get the xp chest but the quest book doesn't consider it completed.

Also, it's weird that your content book doesn't consider it completed... They're normally completed after you open the XP Chest, so that might be a bug.

 

I assume it's just always like that when you're below the recommended level. Caves that are higher level are also marked as "cannot be explored", which is why I was so sure that you wouldn't even be able to get the chest at the end. I thought they handled it like they do with the xp you get for exploring certain areas, you can't get it unless you're at a certain level in order to stop low level players from just running to higher level areas to quickly get levels.

That said, I'm still pretty sure that you need to be lvl 100 in order to get the cave completion to be able to lootrun, just not 100% certain. Either way, I don't think it makes much sense to try at lower levels in the first place.
