Who would win in a fight, 1 billion pokemon or 1 of every lion?

 

I think you got them backwards, idk what one of every lion means. But 1 of every Pokemon would definitely win, considering that includes the literal gods of space and time

 

Holy moly I’m not sure you realize one billion of anything would eventually win

 

I mean, a lot of the pokemon can fly or teleport, so they should be able to either starve the lions out or just pick them off one by one. A billion lions is much less scary if they can't do anything to hurt you.

I’m asking about 1 billion pokemon vs 1 of every lion, not 1 billion lions vs 1 of every pokemon.

 

Please define what you mean by "One of every lion"

 

Hear me out- here's how the lions can win.

Firstly, let's clarify the ruleset at play here. "One of every lion" is a bit vague, so let's assume that it means "one of every lion species." That makes perfect sense. How many species of lion are there again?

Oh.

Well, okay, this might be worse for the lions- or, rather, lion- than I initially expected. However, let's take a look at the descriptor for the opposite side. "One billion pokemon" is a very interesting phrase, since it doesn't specify anything about the pokemons' levels, the format being used, or even what pokemon are being sent to fight the lion. For fairness's sake, let's assume that all of the pokemon are level 100, know the optimal set of moves, can hold items, and attack the lion all at once. Meanwhile, the lion is a lion. On second thought, this doesn't seem very fair at all. However, despite this, the lion will still win this fight.

Introducing, the lion's opponents:

Okay, what does any of that mean?

First and foremost, all of the one billion pokemon are all exactly the same. This one happens to be Unown, which is a very interesting pokemon indeed. Unown can only know one move- Hidden Power. Hidden Power is also a very strange move, as its typing changes depending on its user's IVs (unchangeable numbers that affect a pokemon's stats). Since this Unown has an IV set of 31/31/30/31/30/31, this Hidden Power becomes a Ghost-type move. Ghost isn't a bad typing in the slightest, but it has one major problem- Ghost-type moves cannot hit Normal-type opponents. And, if you recall, this lion is perfectly normal.

Despite this, the lion isn't out of the woods yet. When a pokemon runs out of PP (Power Points- how many times a move can be used in battle), it is forced to use the move Struggle. Struggle is, by all measures, a terrible move. However, it will always deal damage, and the lion cannot survive one billion attacks. Hidden Power has 15 PP, meaning that after 15 turns the Unowns will start using Struggle, and the lion cannot defeat all of its enemies before that occurs.

However, what if this situation never came to pass? In fact, what if it was a complete impossibility for it to occur? Enter the Unowns' held item, Black Sludge. Black Sludge is actually a very useful item- if its holder is Poison-type, then it will recover HP every turn. Unfortunately, Unown is not a Poison type, and it can't Terastalize into one either. Therefore, Black Sludge's second property takes effect- if its holder is not Poison-type, then it loses 1/8 of its max HP every turn. After eight turns, every single one of the Unown will drop dead, without the lion having to lift a finger (or rather, paw). As mentioned before, Hidden Power has 15 PP, so the Unowns will not be able to Struggle before they all faint.

Therefore, the lion will win this encounter every single time. Now, I hear you. "You're breaking the spirit of the question!" "This isn't what the prompt is asking!" "One billion is a big number!" But unowns most optimal hp is ice or electric (assuming it’s a 1bill vs 1 ofc)

If it's 1 lion for every lion on earth, pokemon win.
if it's every possible lion vs the pokemon, pokemon win because the infinite lions eventually take down yveltal, who kills every lion and pokemon except I imagine some pokemon like arceus probably won't die to yveltal.

 

One of every lion, that's gotta be at least like 10 or something idk. Give us a hard one next time please.

 

If we assume every pokemon in the pokedex makes up an equal % of the 1 billion, there will be at minimum 990099.00901 legendary lions (aka solgaleo) and that is a lot of big lions so the 1 billion pokemon win.
