    How come we need to kill the maiden? Her hue has been shifted by her pet fiona and all she wanted was a man to comfort her during her hardship, why did she have to die? What was her crime? Being ugly? Being possesive?

    I tried to spare her but you have to kill her to finish the quest, it left a bad taste on me traveling away from the tower.

    You had to kill bc she pretty much went insane that Shrek rejected her instantly and she doesn't know personal boundaries at this point out of desperation for social activity.
    If I had to say one thing at least slightly positive about this is that you put her out of her misery.
