So I've been listing things in the market for a while and they always sell. You might think that's how it works but I'm selling the weirdest things for crazy prices. I just sold a ring that was +3 and +2 on like agility and defense or something and -8% main damage and -12% spell damage for a liquid emerald. That's an awful ring and it was for a high level too, which at that level should have far better rings. I also sell too many for it to be accidental buys. I think if you place things for sale in the market for the recommended price, the game will pretend like it sold and give you the money. Just to keep the market flowing and you using it. That's smart on the developers end but I'd like to know to what extent. What percentage of sales on the market are real or fake? What do you guys think?

They definitely are real, a liquid emerald isn’t too much money and maybe people are buying to reroll stuff

Certain items just sell regardless of their IDs if there are very few on the market. Chances are that ring was needed specifically for someones build despite it being bad.

I highly doubt there is any fake trades occurring on the market, since that would interfere with the natural player behaviour on the market and do more harm than good.

Also 1le is barely anything in endgame

i did think at one point it could be cool to use the tax generated from the market to buy items randomly and delete them, as an inflation controlling tool, but i couldn't quite get that to work with our current item system. maybe one day!

me when i list a really good item that i cant really get use out of, only for the game to buy it and delete it from existence thus entirely defeating the point of me selling it to someone

Wouldn't that create inflation since it would be giving money to players which otherwise wouldn't exist

I mean that it would take money which would otherwise be inaccessible to players and makes it accessible to players.

controlling in this case means keeping it somewhat stable. it's not good to generate too much currency in an economy, but it's worse to drain too much of it. this would also allow us to create many item sinks and control their prices by increasing their scarcity, which is the coolest part imo

If you want some help controlling the economy by removing items I think I might be able to be of use. I can search the trade market for items which have too much supply and buy them. I would need a source of funding though.

That is not fake, there is a way to automatically buy a certain item for a certain price.

Guys, I think the answer is clear here: We need to create a communisto-anarcho-max- Adam Smith Utilitarian Keynes System of True Effective Capitalism under an Accelerated Altruism free market for the players.
This way we can control the economy properly in the block game where cool funny colours go brrrrrr
