What is a Taga Soihf A Lin? This fella.

as you can see, he is just a guy. Nothing much going for him.

Except...

This somewhat simple mob has a lot of weird things going on for it.

For one, look at the name of this mob in the photo. I said the name of the mob is Taga Soihf A Lin, but the one in the photo is just gibberish. That is because the name of the mob is obfuscated. Taga Soihf A Lin is itself also a seemingly weird name that actually has a meaning. If the name is reversed, it reads "nil a fhios agat" which when translated from Irish means: "You Don't Know". It also spawns 3 mobs called Rud Dorcha which means "something dark".

However, what is perhaps the weirdest part about YDK (i'll just call it that from now on), is a string of weird text that appears on your screen as a title (so you can't rely on chat logs) after you kill it. It is all obfuscated and you are blinded when its killed. Unfortunately, it only appears for mere frames until it starts to disappear. So the main thing I wanted to bring up in this post is:
What does the text from YDK mean?

Could it just be simple CT trolling to keep lore enthusiasts debating? Or does it have deeper meaning? What exactly are these things?

Is there a way to read through obfuscated text in titles? (as long as it conforms to the rules)

Perhaps one day, the mystery behind Wynncraft's most mysterious mob will be solved. So now, there are 2 ways to solve it:
1. find a mod that logs titles
2. harass politely ask Selvut what it is

 

perhaps a mod could be made to intercept titles and write them to a file?

Except I went ahead and changed it afterwards to be something legible albeit something very small

 

i knew when i saw it and killed it today there was more than 6 characters

 

As selvut said, it was recently changed so it actually means something now

Isn't it kinda impossible to read title output normally though
Logs don't show something like that

 

Fairly certain there are certain resource packs which prevent the scrambly-text effect and just print the plain text.

 

Resource packs can't remove obfuscation, obfuscation is the scrambling of text by replacing the letters with others of equal width
Unless you know of a pack that can directly change obfuscation's hardcoded instructions, in which case I'll be interested to see it

 

bumping this with a little crackpot theory of mine:
What if Taga Soihf A Lin's are Weirds cranked up to the extreme? In other words, the most concentrated Weirds to exist. Think about it: it appears to be pure darkness, and you can't even comprehend the name of it. Not to mention they have a somewhat similar body structure to Weirds (or they could also just be a cousin of the darkness mobs from se quests)
