What class should I go for for mage?

    I started a new account as a mage, and wasnt sure what I class I should go for. I enjoy plying solo, and atacking very fast. I perfer mana regen of mana steal. (sorry i just started playing again, and don't really understand abbreviations)

    its fine about abbreviations, ms is mana steal mr is mana regen tierstack is generally what fast attack speed is although idk if you mean attack speed or just attacks (like spells, because that would be spell spam)

    I recommend playing riftwalker (although i would avoid mage altogether, either too boring or too hard in my opinion but thats up to you to experience for yourself) because rift retains a bit of healing but is good damage and is a general alrounder which is literally 1.20 mage (something im still mad about but doesnt matter rn)

    I would recommend a mix between lightbender and riftwalker, you get decent damage and good heals.
    If you are confident in your abilities you could go arcanist, you don't have any heals but you have really high damage. Arcanist is weak in early game I think though.
    It's really just up to you, there isn't really a 'best' archetype.

    oh i mean it depends, yes mage is the standard thats suggested but if you want to play what i call a "truly fun experience" i would recommend archer, maybe assassin because they are much more active and fast paced, of course you might like mages slower, recovery based approach (arcanist is more of a burst fighter though) and if you really feel like you can handle the slightly more complex shaman i would go play shaman because its gimmicks are really cool and although its slow its extremely powerful

    Riftwalker is good when you don’t want to play with other people for damage but you’re not good enough to go without heal

    Either Arcanist or Rift-Bender combination, seems to be popular

    I've got a assassin shadestepper level 38, but I'm trying out mage because I found that my progress was slowing down and getting a lot harder

    How do I mix the archetypes? doesn't the skill tree make you go for one, then block off the others?

    What do you mean go without heal? Is riftwalker just pure damage?

    ah ok. id say try play mage then

    no it only locks certain abilities depending on which abilities you choose

    no rift has heal but its relatively weak

    I was basically saying that lightbender is really only super useful when playing with other people and arcanist is only for people good enough to go without heal, looking back I think you thought that I was saying that you weren’t good enough to not use heal, if that makes any sense
    I was just saying that arcanist is for higher skill players I guess
    I’d count myself in the group of players who wouldn’t be able to use it
