Question about the store/crates

So say I were to buy an event crate on the Wynncraft store, then not play Wynncraft until after the event of that crate. Would the crates still be event crates or would they automatically turn into normal crates or something like that?

 

Event crates will always stay as event crates from the event you bought them from, as well as the free crates. I still have a ton of excess crates from bonfire and blizzard festival, and they still show as them even now.

Pretty sure event crates have a unique id/value somewhere that preserves them as an event crate, and an event passing won't change or revert it back to normal store crate code.
