Olux being a great level 10 farming spot...

Anyone else wondering why only level 1-10 wheat and barley spawn in olux?

 

Wheat, Barely, Copper, and Willow appear in Olux because it has a quest (Shadow of the Beast) that has profession requirements.

 

Yes I know, but the fact that only level 1-10 crops can be found in olux, where they can be found in such abundance that it rivals places like detlas and ragni, is the odd part. They should at least add area level appropriate resources such as hops and rye.

 

They're in such high abundance because we intend for the barrier to entry to be far far lower as that may be the player's first introduction to professions.
While there isn't Jungle wood or much rye present in the Swamp, there's a fair bit of Cobalt and Piranha.

 

I suppose that is true. However, as for it being the players first introduction to professions, I find that highly unlikely. There is a similar quest between levels 10 and 20 (I forgot which level exactly) which is also similar in the regard that it involves resource gathering for professions.

 

Cook's Assistant has you to gather a few wheat grain for a quest stage, and is level 3.
The lowest level quest requiring professions however is level 49, being Rise of Quatron w/ level 15 mining.

 

Yeah, been a while since I did those, so didn't know the exact levels. Could've sworn there was one that requires fishing though? The one with the shipwreck off the nemract coast?

 

Underwater has fishing as a quest stage but doesn't require you to level up fishing to do the quest.
