Better to have higher or lower health as a lightbender mage?

So, from what I understand, the Heal spell heals 15% of your maximum HP. Which means that logically I should have a higher max HP if I want to heal my allies more.

But then buffs like Fortitude, Lightweaver, and Sunflare give bonuses when healing a portion of your max health within a few seconds (120%, 50%, and 300% respectively).

So is it better to have a lower max HP such that I can easier reach the capped amount? Or should I try to maximize my own HP so I can heal large amounts at once, but also trigger those buffs less often?

    Thank you!

I would generally go for a higher max health, but as with most builds it's better to focus on identifications and skill points than just raw health. Your ophanim will help with the ability to heal that much health quickly.

    Sounds good, thank you.

As a followup question, my understanding is that my ophanim lose HP every time I attack. Does this mean that they require more healing if I have a very fast attack speed weapon, and less if I have a very slow weapon? Is there an agreed-upon best attack speed such that my ophanim take enough damage that they contribute to healing but not too much that they consume all my mana?

Apparently ophanim attack at a set speed so generally slower attack speed is better (vslow or slow I think). This makes the damage more spread out so you cast heal less while still getting the same health healed. This is my understanding but it might be wrong.

This is more or less correct. Since Ophanim has a set attack speed, if you start a new Ophanim attack cycle while the previous one is still active, it'll cancel the old cycle and start the new one which essentially throws your orbs' health off balance (ex: your first 3 orbs may have 25-30% of their Max HP while the other 3 orbs have 80%+ of their Max HP). It just saves you from accidentally losing orbs, requiring you to recast Meteor as well as making sure Fortitude, Lightweaver, and Sunflare can trigger consistently
