Wynnter's Surprise

The first Wynnter's Surprise released last year, and it consisted of a solo album with 14 covers of Wynncraft songs in the sounds of 8-bit chiptune, PLUS one cover in a more traditional sounding way.

The idea sparked out of me looking at the work I used to do back in the day, which was solely 8-bit chiptune using FamiTracker, a PC tracker that lets you use the NES 2A03 and its other assorted chips. It took a couple of months of planning, but it released accordingly as soon as last year's Festival of the Blizzard was announced, so I entered it in the contest!

Wynnter's Surprise: The Second

The second installment has just finished releasing! As a sequel to the first one, this one includes 15 Wynncraft in the sounds of 8-bit chiptune, PLUS one extra Remix produced with FM synths.

Same idea with the previous album, the main thing I wanted to achieve with the songs in it was to visit other places within Wynn, but also revise the instrument choices I made for the first album to remaster them fully for the second, so some songs might sound a bit familiar or have similar choice of instruments relating to the first one (e.g. my "Epic Gavel" cover references my previous cover of "Gavel Journey" , as well as "Everpresence" with "Where They Wandered").

This is awesome.

That last remix of Staring into The Abyss reminds me of Rude Buster from Deltarune lol.

one day i will get another jofash docks cover
or efilim even, songs that live rent free in my head……. dont think i’ve ever seen an efilim cover now i think abt it

 

I thought about doing Jofash Docks for the same reason I did Cinfras County - both are shanties and are really catchy, but time constraints didn't let me for this one
Might happen for the next one though

 

i will look out for it w/my autistic little eyes (i will forget it in 3 weeks)
