    If you know lore, you know that players come to Wynn at year 1000 AP. This is actually 100% false. As we learn in Recipe for Disaster, that the chef was the same chef from Cook's Assistant at level 3. But as we see their "golden spoon" trophies. Which their first one is at 994 AP. But that means that when we helped them it was year 994 AP and not 1000 AP... But what we also learn is that at around level 95.5, Maxie get's married in 1000 AP leaving a 92.5 level gap between six years. Which does also mean we can calculate how many levels equal one year...

    Here is my maths:
    Level 3 is year 994, and if Level 95.5 is year 1000.
    95.5 - 3 = 92.5. If there is a six year difference then...
    92.5 / 6 = 15.4166666667. (15.4 Levels per Year)
    And to go even further....
    15.4166666667 / 12 = 1.28472222222. (1.3 Levels per Month).

    Which there we go... every level translates to basically a month going by. Which is really weird to think about which just shows how slow our player is...

    So there you go. Also then isn't it weird that Maxie found love, got married within like 3 months. ALSO, Maxie already has a poster of them being married in level 89 so... huhhhh

    What’s interesting is that if you assume 20 minutes is one day in wynncraft and you calculate how many real life days wynncraft has been online, you see that the actual date in wynncraft is 1686AP, a very long time (some of the original players have been alive for centuries)

    But the lore says that it's 1000 AP...
    That's using un-lore maths. Only use lore maths.

    Chef Hamsey being the cook from Ragni is no longer in the dialogue and therefore presumably no longer canon

    And the Maxie thing... we can assume he gets married right after the feathers fly part 2 (the poster already being in his house already in the envoy 2 is just.... eeeeeh timeline weird stuff)

    TO be fair if we're going all realistic here it would take you as a player a relatively long time to recover from, you know, getting traumatized by the horrors of the world and being cut in half on a daily basis. and all that.

    But what if you level a character without doing quests, do the lvl3 cook quest, then immediately take a scroll to ahmsord and do recipe for diasater? Would that mean the scroll took years to work? Or that a non-stop grind party takes six ingame years?

    Given that not that much stuff happens that isn't related to the player (ex. mayor elections, troop movements, other lame stuff) I'm gonna headcannon that most of the game takes place in a few months, completely ignoring repeated content and grinding.

    Doesn’t the entirety of the player’s journey take place in the year 1000 AP?

    the entire game is meant to take place in 1000 ap yeah
    the ragni world discovery (first thing you see upon finishing the tutorial) states that bob has been missing for 16 years, and it's later mentioned that he went missing in 984 ap
    i don't know if this is the only explicit mention of how long things take but in realm of light 4 lari claims that we've only been in gavel (or helping the light?) for "the span of weeks at most!", so clearly someone thinks we go through the game very very fast

    I know while this isn't correct to the lore, my headcanon is that the game takes place over the course of 1 to 2 years starting in the autumn of 999. My reasoning for the game starting in autumn is the fact that there are two quests that probably take place in December: Craftmas Chaos and Meaningful Holiday. Assuming Craftmas takes place on December 25, this would make Craftmas Chaos take place sometime from December 13 to December 23 and Meaningful Holiday take place on December 24 or 25. I think it makes the most sense to assume that these quests take place on December 15 and 24 respectively, so the player takes 9 days to go from level 30 to 33. Assuming that it takes a constant 3 days to level up, it would take 309 days to go from level 1 to finishing AHC, but I don't believe this is the case.

    I think that it's fair to assume that it takes longer and longer story-wise to level up as levels get higher, due to the quests being longer and more demanding. (For example, I don't think the player would go immediately from almost dying in a prison to almost dying in a mansion.) Another factor is that the quests are farther apart, so it would take longer to get between them. So, I compiled a chart to show how long I think it would take to level up 10 levels.
    1-10: 7 days
    11-20: 15 days
    21-30: 24 days
    31-40: 34 days
    41-50: 45 days
    51-60: 57 days
    61-70: 70 days
    71-80: 84 days
    81-90: 99 days
    91-100: 115 days
    100- finishing AHC: 35 days

    From the chart, we can see that it would take 585 days to get from level 1 to level 103. Assuming that the player reaches level 31 at midnight on December 15, 999, the player would first enter Wynn on November 1, 999. The player would finish AHC on June 8, 1001.

    I think this is a good estimate because firstly, it mostly takes place in 1000. Secondly, it fits with what ditsario mentioned above, because Bob might have gone missing early into the year 984, so the time that he has been missing for could round to 16 years. Thirdly, I know it is stated that you are in the year 1000 before level 35 and after level 85, but this could also be rounding, (most events in Wynncraft appear to happen in years that end with 0, and I assume this is rounding as well.) Lastly, by this estimate, the time between ROL II and ROL IV would be about 9-10 weeks, which, considering Lari has been alive for over 1000 years, "a few weeks" for her would be perceived as quite a while for us, makes sense.

    true, i mean they could just be rounding it up to 1000 as it's the year 994... and lari well... Lari is an elf who lives for hundreds of years. I'd imagine their perception of time is weird.

    Correction, the entirety of Wynncraft actually takes place over several years

    While the player does indeed start the game at the year 1000 AP, and most of their earlygame journey does point to said events taking place in the same year of 1000 AP. However, According to a few quick and rough calculations that I done based on several clues in midgame and endgame quests and discoveries, the final year calculated that the player enters SE during is actually approximately ~1087 AP, potentially even more!
    Let me explain. throughout most of the player's earlygame (I'd say around ~1-63), the quests available either point to the year being 1000 AP, not mentioning a year change or not having any mention of the passage of time at all! However, once the player passes the level range mentioned above (so about level 64+), this is where things start to get clearer. For the purposes of this investigation I have decided to also include the amount of time it takes for the player to finish each quest while in-game live, although choosing to either omit or reconsider certain events which include timeskips (Selvut did mention one time that the player actually takes several days falling down the Bottomless Pit, as well). While most quests are quickly finished within the timespan of an hour or so, these extra times should not be deemed negligible. Certain quests do show a significant amount of time, after all, and none should be left for the sake of accuracy.
    Hence, to my previous result of 1087AP or above by the start of level 100. While showing the full calculations might be a little bit too much for this forum post, I will be separating the main outliers into different percentages in the report below so you will understand how some parts of the game contribute to this 87+ year gap (Note, the true value is potentially way more than 87 years, the sheer small amount I gave here was extremely generous so there is no telling of the true period of time spent):

    100% out of 87+ years the player spends in Wynncraft:

    === Main Outliers ===
    Earlygame (1-63) - 0.932%
    Midgame (64-80) - 0.568%*
    Endgame (80-100) - 0.254%

    * Excluding quests listed below.

    === Additional Quests And/ Or Events That Take Up a Significant Amount of Time ===
    Temple of the Legends (68) - 0.348%
    Shattered Minds (70) - 0.129%
    The Ultimate Weapon (75) - 0.186%

    === Honorable mentions ===
    Realm of Light III - A Headless History (64) - 97.583%
