Community Event The Wynncraft Quest Survey (yet again)

The survey has been closed​

Oculism did a 2.0 content census which recently ended and the results are coming soon (tm), so I decided to make a survey for EVERY quest in the game.

You'll basically rank every quest in the game on a scale from 1-10 (1 being abysmally bad, 10 being superbly awesome), and then give extra feedback, and say your top 3 most and least favorite quests.

Indeed I did quotation marks, kinda. The 2.0 Quest Survey, which you can find the results for here. I did include every reworked quest in 2.0 on this survey, mainly to see if the general attitude has changed as the 2.0 update has been out for 2 months.

Wtf I haven't finished all the 2.0 quests yet how am I supposed to do this...

I didn't even remember that most of these quests existed until now. I do hope The Breaking Point is #1, though.

A Hunter's Calling currently seems to still sit a bit comfortably at the #1 spot, but there is a certain quest that seems like it could usurp its position.

Elemental Exercise has the score you'd probably expect.

It's forgettable, but with ones like aldorei's secret 2 & hunger of gerts 2 i don't see any reason why it's particularly low

35 replies, looking good so far, and due to the fact that replies have slowed down in coming in, the survey will be closed on November 19th.

 

Elemental Exercise is, most definitely, deserving of its spot as the worst quest. Its initial appearance is, indeed, simply a forgettable quest - one could argue that the Hallowynn quest is a worse quest than it, because that quest is highly forgettable, has no impact on anything lore-wise, and is simply awful from a gameplay standpoint, however I'd disagree.

First and foremost, the quest is one of the only quests to lie to the player about the true intentions of it - specifically, the stage when the player is "supposed to" collect 10 Scorched Roots. While I understand that the intention of a quest being diverted could be used in an interesting way, perhaps the quest to introduce that concept should be after the tenth level, when most players are not even certain that they will continue playing.

Second, there's the emphasis put on Elemental damage. Having an entire quest focusing on explaining Elemental damage is an interesting concept, and one that perhaps could be used for other features as well. However, the makers of the quest got a bit excited and threw the quest off the rails, with the beginning and end of the quest not working with the middle at all - they are two completely different stories. Regardless, the mobs that are supposed to explain how Elemental damage work have several flaws.

First, the Qira-like Elemental defenses - the ridiculous Fire weakness of the mob in that quest (which is meant to teach you about how Elemental damage works) implies that all mobs that have any Elemental defense or weakness have it to the extreme, and that entire builds should be focused on simply dealing the right kind of damage. There is also the much smaller complaint that Earth mobs are not typically weak to Fire damage, which is the central focus of the quest.

Essentially, not only is the quest forgettable and lame, it misleads the player.
