Qira Hive Stage 5

ok but who made stage 5 boss so difficult
I took 10 attempts to kill it on my shaman and immediately after I soloed Qira nopot
I swear the gimmicks in stage 5 are ridiculous

 

It's been a while since my last Qira fight but my recent is not to bad tbh. Only the vanguard is sucking hard. Did Qira got buffed tho?

 

Literally. I refuse to believe they tested it. Or they did but they knew exactly what they were doing and had a tanky ass build.

I'm sure there's a better name for this but I've been calling it "Revenge AI". If I'm not mistaken, Solar Vanguard spawns those cataclysmically high damage white smoke rings that erupt the more hits you deal to it. Some people might think, hey that's not so bad right? General DPS was buffed so the boss isn't so tanky. Wrong wrong WRONG. How is an archetype like Summoner or Trapper with loads of ticks of damage or Acolyte which relies or aura to heal or literally any player who walks in expecting to give it hell expected to enjoy the game if THE ENTIRE ARENA ERRUPTS WITH CHAOS. I'm all for buffing the Qira boss fights and making them more entertaining but Qira herself should literally be stronger.
TL:DR - whoever designed Qira did the wrong kind of testing or didn't do any at all. It's too hard for your average player.

 

i swear all of the hive division bosses are way harder than qira

i attempted them all on beta and here's what happened:

Psychomancer: was pretty easy since he stopped teleporting around which allowed me to bombard him with meteors but when I tried the boss on an at-level warrior it was insanely hard because the game didn't tell me to not look at his clones (which is one of his gimmicks)

Gale: too much damage

Genesis-Revorse: perfectly fine

Oceanic Judge: Honestly not too bad if you know to stop attacking him when he speaks to you, but a lot of people don't know that.

Solar Vanguard: What the fuck.

Qira: Easiest boss of them all, I literally just tped around the arena for half of the battle to get screenshots of all her attack dialogue and only ever fought her to progress the fight. Not only did I survive for about 10 minutes, but I also beat the boss without really trying and moved on.

 

Really? I did solo him on 1.20 but didn't yet on 2.0. Was this pre 2.0 thing or am I just oblivious bout his ai?

 

the hive bosses all got updated in 2.0

 

iirc rather than the amount of times you hit him, it's based on hp thresholds
it just so happens to be that there are quite a bit of hp thresholds, and with 2.0 dps you reach a lot of those thresholds very very fast
