Hello fellow war scream enthusiasts, and welcome to my buff air shout thread.

    upload_2022-10-16_21-46-46.png

Let me first justify why this should be buffed:

This ability is completely optional, having no archetype affinity, and in it's current state probably doesn't see much usage (I've never seen someone use it personally but that's just me) due to other abilities being significantly more worth it, to the point that the utility of air shout simply isn't worth having over:

higher uppercut damage; comet, fireworks, axe kick, flaming uppercut, whirlwind
fallen's utility options; massacre, massive bash, intoxicating blood

My main goal is that air shout should be worth having so that trees that focus on using war scream as a damage spell can compete with trees that simply build uppercut or even bash damage.

Let's take a second, for review's sake, and look at what else buffs war scream in terms of damage:
Iron lungs, Shield strike, Cyclone, and Tempest.

Iron Lungs is a simple damage upgrade that requires flaming uppercut or flyby jab. This will increase the damage Air Shout does as well... but only if you get the ability after unlocking Air Shout. Hopefully this bug gets fixed soon because it effects many things.

Shield Strike will do either 300% or 500% spell damage depending on mantle cost, however this requires heavy paladin investment.

Cyclone adds a damaging small range aftereffect AoE after casting war scream, but requires heavy monk investment.

Tempest heavily increases the damage war scream does, however I believe this is also effected by the "order you get abilities in" bug.

As it stands, only one of these has an interaction with Air Shout (sometimes.), and therefore the significance of buffing Air Shout isn't too drastic as far as I'm aware.

So how should it actually be buffed? Currently, it deals 50% spell multiplier and has a 32-33~ block range.
It cannot be multi-casted, so only one projectile can exist at once. It doesn't retain screams "pull" aspect, and it has a relatively normal cost compared to warrior's other 3 spells.

My suggested solution is to allow multiple projectiles to exist at once. I know this sounds a little iffy but hear it out:

-This will barely, if at all, effect the earlygame, and will largely only impact lategame and endgame content where mana is more accessible.

-Using multiple screams in a row to hit 3-4 or so Air Shouts sounds powerful, but you just used your mana on a ranged attack that did the damage of about one uppercut with fireworks and comet, something just about every warrior uses. The advantage of range is an upside, but that's the entire point of Air Shout in the first place, ranged utility.

    - Ragnarokkr, an ability so incredibly good you'd be insane to pass up, increases war scream's base cost by 10, decreasing notably how often the spell can be used.

This makes scream a pretty strong cost regardless of build (usually, there's always -4th cost), and will be a base 40 or base 35 cost on INT-less builds depending on what you have, excluding Ragnarokkr. Let's be real though, no-one is going to skip Ragnarokkr.

-This might sound like it could buff cheesing mobs through walls, but it will simply make killing anything through a wall quicker, and this was already very much possible with 1.20's air shout.

I'd like for every part of warrior's ability tree to be fun, engaging, and worth using. While many agree that warrior's tree is the most malleable and diverse, it also suffers the same problem as every skill tree in that some ability are simply too good not to use. The most fun warrior design is a well-rounded one, something 2.0 warrior changes exemplify very well, so I don't think this sounds too out of left field.

Enraged blow, uppercut upgrades, radiance, and whirlwind strike are all cornerstones of Warrior's skill tree, but that doesn't mean abilities that aren't as significant like flyby jab, air shout, or quadruple bash shouldn't be allowed to be worthwhile.

The truth of the matter is, whether things like Enraged Blow (which is outright required for fallen, and is absurdly overpowered) are nerfed or not, I still think something purely optional like Air Shout should be buffed regardless for the sake of fun, even if it's such a small buff as allowing multiple projectiles to exist at once. It may seem insignificant, but giving more freedom to a utility option like a 32~ block range projectile on warrior goes a long way, especially for a purely optional ability that costs 2 ability points.

Honestly I think it would be cool if the projectile slowed down a bit and actually dealt significant knockback to carry mobs along a bit like in 1.20.

I'm not asking for warrior to be buffed lol. Nerfs to fallen's damage output is inevitable.

Return fully knockback and I'll be happy, don't even need to increase hits just give it a ton of knockback I wanna send enemies flying.
