What does this Light Bender ability do?

I'm trying to figure out a difference when applying the "Better Lightweaver" ability to my Mage, and I can't figure it out


From my understanding, unlocking this ability adds 2 more orbs to your arsenal when you cast Meteor (Ophanim). but casting the spell WITHOUT the ability summons 6 orbs, and casting the spell WITH the ability still summons only 6 orbs.

There has to be a difference that I am not seeing, does anyone know what it does?

 

Lightweaver are the orbs that surround you after HEALING. This basically increases passive dps.
