How to max XP at grinding party?

I'm trying to level up my character as quickly as possible, what do I have to do in a grinding party to make that process as fast as possible?

 

Typically quests and secret discoveries are going to level you up faster than grinding (not always, but most of the time).

To maximize the efficiency of grinding, I recommend you get a lot of XP bonus and find a party that has a designated healer (or someone who can heal, if you can't heal yourself). Make sure they have mob totems since that'll increase the spawn rate of mobs by a large amount, and try to find worlds that have Double XP bombs active.

Also another side note: quests are not affected by Double XP but dungeons are

 

Thank you! May I also ask, when grinding, is there a special place I should stand in, or how many mobs I should damage/kill? Sorry for my ignorance.

 

Nope you don't need to stand anywhere specific, just try to avoid taking damage and as long as you hit a mob, you'll get shared XP for it

 

I have been levelling up pretty fast. One place that I get a lot of xp is walking (not sprinting) caves. I do it mostly because I enjoy that kind of play as a boltslinger. Also, walking around I have found places where the spawn rate is really high for no apparent reason. When quests started taking me to Olux, I stumbled on two ponds right next to each other a little to the east of Olux on the south side of the road that runs past the farms and lumberyard where you could stand between the ponds and kill nagas almost as fast as you can until you get tired of it. A little higher level I found that just east of Bucie you can walk around in a small oval route on the north side of the road and pretty much constantly engage. yet a little higher, I found a spider cave near the bridge to Cinfras. I am getting into builds and trying to learn to optimize them and I look for these places more to test builds than grind, but my xp has been climbing pretty fast. I also have a personal rule to walk a new area before I ride, so that if I barely make it to a town that will become my respawn point I am not likely to be stuck there. It's a lot easier to ride back to a safer area than walk. Anyway, this also results in a lot of xp.

 

The thing is, yesterday I was grinding with a party, and the large xp waves were often and huge. I was sometimes getting like 200k xp at a time, easily over 1

If I remember correctly, the further away you are level wise from the mobs, the less XP you'll get. So assuming you leveled up a few times this is the only possible explanation I can think of
