After completing the level 79 quest Realm of Light V -- The Realm of Light, I obtained a bracelet that gave me jump boost. Now whenever I have to track a beacon, I just use that bracelet and go straight towards the beacon, jumping over any mountain I encounter.

 

It lets you do that? I have run into spots where I got up over a barrier with escape straight up and get to a point where it prevents me from moving forward even though it's not physically blocked and I can see where I am headed. Might be specific to shortcuts in quests though.

I still have been spending way too much time playing. I keep thinking I will hit a saturation point where I will back off for a bit and I will. Resorted to video to give me the trick to getting past a couple of places in quests; things like stepping on pressure plates in the right order or whatever that I would never notice. Parkour in one of them actually did work with leap. Putting them off too long does make the fights a little too easy, but some of that may be that this build actually is pretty good. I did The Maiden Tower (Sherk, who was obviously Shrek) pretty much on level. When I figured out it was going to be a battle with the maiden, I cast guardian angel and she was immediately toast. Pretty much the same with the urn guardian on that quest. I ended up with 4 urns because I didn't think that was the end and hung around and the guardian keeps respawning.

filled out more properly; I had an error in my ability tree before so it wasn't using that info. Now it is.
still not sure how to get powders in there correctly. those water and fire deficiencies each have a couple of t4 powders countering them.
I have pretty much given up on the Evanescent. Now the Infinity is getting tantalizingly close. Will lose walk speed. Still very difficult to think of replacing the Galloping Spurs unless I find some with a big jump in xp and some walk speed bonus. Sprint does last a fair distance now, but I still want a fast walk.

 

ended up back in Troms. Was trying to get somewhere that I think is near Nasaak and ended up near the bridge again and decided to go for it again. Couple of potions, then started with angel up and health potion in my hand riding across and up into the village. From there, the run into Troms is fairly easy. I really like the town, but I do find I am intimidated about going out the gates. First quest I started to track, the mage asked me to go look around near the bridge. Excuse me? I might run over to the village to hear about the other on level quest or I might just launch myself down the cave again. take some potions at the little hidey hole I found at the entrance to the first real room. Sounds odd that certain death is les unintimidating than going out the gates, but I know I will make it to the first real room entrance after taking out several mobs in the entryway, then clear several out of the room, let it refill and do it again a couple of times and then bolt down the cave. It's a pretty straight shot and if I manage to get to the end I might be able to open the chest, set everything in slow motion and get a bunch of stuff before I die and take the soul point train back to Tempo Town.

I haven't tried jumping over the mountains around Troms. The mountains I jump over are the ones in the Canyon of the Lost, since if I try to travel through them normally, like the name suggests, I will get lost.

 

Is there actually a blog post area?

I jumped under the mountains again. I ran down the cave. I definitely made it to the end, but didn't see the chest. I wasn't alive long down there though. I should have done a video so I could play it back for a better look. I got drops in there for 60s and 70s; I think I even had one low 90s. So that cave is likely above my level even though the town of Troms isn't. I did go over to the village to start a quest and get step one info as long as I was nearby and I am very glad I did because of where I was asked to go for step two. I parked it in the Wynn excavation part B site for the night. I didn't realize it was down there. I will have to double back to Nasaak to get the part A crystal from the bank. I knew there were the other two down there and I had not been to the area before but wondered about it from seeing it on the map. I went down into the site as I am likely going to have to get some clues from wiki or video for the quests. The excavation site looked like a safe place to stand around, so I could save there, leaf through quests, etc. Really not far back to Nasaak and one of the few routes that is pretty easy to find.

correction - I think it was down there, but I had a 94, 95 and 97 lv items. They were nothing special other than being high level so I sold them to the blacksmith.

My other thought is to post a boltslingers discussion/journal and invite others to share as well. The it's all on topic and other boltslingers will find it. A lot of folks, myself included, don't bother with the things that aren't subject/product centric. I am on a few boards for games, hobbies, interests, etc, and if I started reading and posting in their off topic boards it would be a huge time waster for me. Obviously, I currently have a lot of time to waste, though that is likely to change within a few days. Anyway, I think that would probably be permitted as long as it is an actual discussion and not just a personal journal. It would likely bring in some boltslingers that skip this thread.

EDIT - also, if I am asked to move the discussion, at least it would have the title and some content for others to find it and follow the link. But it really seems like it should be allowed; it's a relevant topic and anything about boltslingers - questions, discussion and experiences would all be on topic. I should start using spoiler for brevity.

 

@shacers and @Earthbrine - an fyi since you have been frequent contributors. I started a new thread that is more general and hopefully will attract some other boltslingers. This was getting so far off track...
