Does Decimator work with Crepuscular Ray?

Just curious if the decimator upgrade for sharpshooter increases the damage that crepuscular ray deals. If it doesn't, I might consider leaving the upgrade out of my build and putting the ability points into something else.

 

It only works for phantom ray

 

Decimator is about 100x more useful than Crap Ray

 

I have done a bit of the math, Decimator on phantom ray when focused on a single target does a total of 1720% over 2 seconds. Without the "Crap Ray" upgrade the maximum multiplier is x2.25 making the damage 3870% over 2 sec or 1935%/sec making it quite powerful. Getting the Crepuscular Ray allows you to get a x2.75 multiplier but limits the multiplier on phantom ray to just x2, making the damage 3440% or 1720%/sec. Crepuscular Ray itself does 800%/sec over 5-7seconds dealing 4000%-5600%. A decimator ray build has a higher dps than a crepuscular ray build, but it struggles in the mana department because Crepuscular ray allows time for mana to recharge while focus drains. I would also say the decimator ray build has more consistency because it usually has a consistent x2.25 multiplier while a crepuscular ray build has to recharge focus whenever crepuscular ray is used. I should also mention bryophyte roots which deals 337.5%/sec with the x2.25 multiplier and 300%/sec with the x2 multiplier, dealing more damage with the decimator build but lasting longer and spreading over a larger area with the crepuscular ray build.

I like the so called "crap ray" better because its gameplay is more fun and varied and still has a decimator ray with good dps. Even if the build has a lower dps decimator ray, it can be used in a similar way to the decimator ray build. The Crap Ray build can maintain a multiplier of x2.75 and use an arrow bomb that costs 5 less mana and deal higher damage with scorched earth, arrow shield, and call of the hound abilities.

I rest my case.

 

Unfortunately you cannot spam crep ray so decimator is still very useful.

 

Plus you can mix in other spells while spamming Phantom Ray for cycling purposes and maintaining max focus
