I respawned in Nodguj Nation. After the long and draining exercise of making it all that way to the end, I decided to take a break from it and took the boat back to Nemract. But if I resume this quest, where do I go? The status says to bring Old Tom back Santa's rag as proof of killing him. That was on Selchar, but it is alternate future Selchar. I am really bad at parkour, even climbing winding steps slowly, plus I got lost in the corrupted Selchar for a while trying to find Old Tom and then again trying to find Santa. I have a *lot* of time in that quest; I really hope the answer isn't restart.

I'm pretty sure you have to go back to present Santa, and go into the magical fireplace again...

I was afraid of that. It would be tough to make it work otherwise. If I decide not to do it for a while, Selchar needs to be "normal" Selchar.

I have a similar situation with the other Santa quest, though I can pick it back up in Tavernes. I hate (because I am no good at) parkour. I am one ability point away from getting Leap, which may help. I was really close to levelling up and ran around killing things to get over. But I still need another level for next ability point and the mobs are way too sparse and low value to do a whole level there. Anyway, /kill took me back to Tavernes and the there is a twinkling area with the instructions to right click to go through the portal Nick created, which will put me right back where I was. So it will actually be a convenient one to test Leap in. I did a little of my Escape trick, aiming my butt up to climb back out and/or toward a block a few away to complete parkour but there are two many and the slide mechanics make it hard to do more than one or two at a time.

I hated that ice parkour the first time I did it. The second time I did it I somehow managed to get a perfect run and completed it first try, which was very lucky and I'm glad it happened. I've died in the Selchar Santa quest before, and I had to figure out how to get back to the area on my own. I also didn't know that there was a seaskipper route between the Ice nations and Selchar, so at the beginning of the quest I swam from Selchar to the Ice Nations, then died in the quest, then swam back to Selchar because I thought that was where I had to go, but then had to swim back to the Ice Nations again to continue the quest.

Interesting. I wasn't sure whether it would let you. I have a boat I found in the street, along with a bunch of dungeon keys. I suspect it was a purposeful drop by someone. I wondered if I could just drop it in and row wherever I wanted. Could be interesting in the rivers, if it works there, though I am not sure if it would be useful or not; just interesting.

I have been kicking myself for getting killed by corrupted Santa. I let quests fall behind and have been catching up. I am a boltslinger. With health around 1000 and a 120 dps bow, a lot of boss fights have been anticlimactic and I had gotten a little lazy, going in with a guardian angel up and just taking some regular shots. I never even saw the necromancer in Lost Tower. Santa stayed still close by in front of me and I probably could have pumped most or all of the arrows from a storm into him. Not going back to either Santa until I get Leap and determine if it is helpful. I suspect so as I have seen other players in parkour doing what looks like Leap, or what I think it is from the description. Just one more ability point...

In the meantime, I may do what you mention in your signature and go exploring. Maybe check out Llevigar. It says lv 40 and I am only a 35, but I was poking around in Almuj well before I was a 30, since it has that easy sneak to Tavernes. It wouldn't let you use the bank though. But the easy sneak back and the fairly easy ride or run over to Detlas only made that an inconvenience. And to get back on topic, the loot boxes on that sneak are like Christmas. I should probably poke around in Nessak, though I don't like the aura of that area. Should also probably do dungeons, they are a major weakness. I really dislike how they work with respect to soul points. Die and lose two points and then respawn in unprotected territory, potentially risking two more. It's been less of a risk since I got my horse, of course (of course ). But I have died in some unexpected places from stupid mistakes. But now that I am up to 12 soul points, I am risking less. Got burned a couple of times losing armor earlier when I had fewer points and tried to do something multiple times.

or mini-quests; I have 2 available. Those are usually good for racking up points if they are on open ground.

I remember back when I was first doing the Studying the Corrupt quest, I got lost and ended up in the Nesaak forest, where I quickly died because when I cast Multihit onto this big monster made of wood, it reflected all of the damage back onto my, effectively causing me to combo myself to death. Btw I may or may not have decided, at level ~37, to go to this lvl 90-100 area known as the Sky Islands to retrieve a Talking Mushroom...(Yes there is an easy way to get there without running across the entirety of Gavel)

This happened to me so many times, I feel your pain. But as that guy said, you have to go back to Santa. :D

I get lost a lot, even with the web map up. A big part of it is the funky angle of the map, but a lot of it is just me trying to stay in motion for safety as a higher priority than navigation. A horse makes it better and worse; motion is more reliable for safety but I can be further off in the weeds when I figure out where I am.

I did go over and explore Llevigar briefly. Some pretty work on buildings there. I ventured out of town just a little on foot. Took on some orcs on the road and did okay, went in a cave and died pretty quickly. Not ready to truly explore over there yet. I still have plenty of challenges left in Almuj; when I started catching up on quests, that's pretty much where I hit the ceiling for my current level of play. The Santa I started this thread about is definitely doable; i just did a bad job of it the first time. Still have to see how Leap does in there for getting back quicker. I got it; it's disappointing for the other Santa's parkour as the ice mechanic makes landing and stopping difficult and it almost jumps too far. But it is likely to be perfect for the parkour of squares in the Craftmas Chaos quest.

Even though I feel like I could beat him now if I were more careful, I am going to wait to do it until I am even more certain just because of how long it will take to get back there.

also, I feel like my level (37 now) is slightly inflated. A couple of times I have been on when double points was going on and happened to be where I could pretty much go in harvest mode. I think it was level 33 that I went through literally without stopping as I was in Old Nemract running through packs of zombies and skeletons with guardian angel up. Also that mine that leads to Rymek (not sure how else you get there) and the Coyote slay turned out to be trivial with guardian angel and a 120 dps bow. I went back through the mine again a few minutes later just for the points. I have been doing similar things all through the game, mostly driven by dying in quests then looking at the ability tree and thinking "if only I had". That was especially true for the period between double shot and triple shot. I hated double shot.

That mine is the least confusing way to get to Rymek. I wish I had thought of that, 'cause the way I had to go to Rymek is by going through an opening into the Mesa right of the Sand Swept Tomb dungeon, and then I had to navigate through the Mesa without the help of the online map until I got there. The whole trip usually took me 10 - 20 minutes...

I stumbled on it following the beacon for coyote slay from Tavernes. When it became obvious the beacon was behind the mountain, it was pretty clear there was no way over it, so I started looking for ways through it. Got some bonus points from first trying the cave above it first.

It was a joke with skin piercer and guardian angel. It would have been more of a challenge without a shield, but I used a lot of them for target practice trying to get them before they triggered the shield and was usually able to. But I would have definitely taken damage and had to Escape sometimes. Things that attack low are hard to deal with as an archer. Even with the shield up if I moved toward them while they were moving toward me I would take minor damage before it got them.

I pretty much can't hit low to the ground stuff as a Shaman, but the moment I throw down my totem, everything around me is doomed.

Sometimes when I have been in a confined space where Escape won't help, I have shot a bomb at my feet. I take minor damage from that, but less than I would if I didn't get away from them. I guess that is one of the purposes of Leap; kind of a short forward escape. Now that I have Stomp, I should be able to use Escape even if constrained because I will still come down hard and do damage.
