Holy crap you actually made Temple of Legends WORSE

Hello gamers

You probably haven't noticed because nobody does the quest, but some things have changed about the Temple of Legends quest.

Not big things mind, just some bad additions to an already annoyingly long and difficult quest.

The smaller of the two evils is that the Coral of Nelfor's only spawns in 1 tiny cave in the Seavale Reef now. Meaning if you didn't know this (me) you spend around 30 mins searching for it.

The second and more annoying change comes from the second area that the quest takes place in. The nether portal.

You see, previously, you went, talked to the guy, he said get some dust, you got some dust and returned.
Now, you do the same talking to the guy, but before you go get dust, you need to fight 3 stages of progressively harder crowds of mobs. Each with its own few waves.
At the end, instead of some dust being left on the ground, you need to fight 3 bosses simultaneously in under 3 minutes. That cave is literally harder then CoW.

I recorded a higher level class going through so you can see how it changed

this part was meant to make the quest more interesting and honestly, as someone who was using gear like 20 levels under me as i did the quest at-level, i didn't have too much trouble with it yesterday

i died once and it was because i got unlucky and got bombarded by blazes but aside from that it was fine

(for reference, i was using bmonk warrior)

the first 3 rooms were just a lot of warscream and half moon swipe spamming, and it was satisfying because all the mobs gave a lot of free xp

last room was easy because the ranged boss was the only real threat and focusing on it had caused the melee boss to also die, then the last boss had run ai so i just cornered it against a wall and killed it with about a minute still left on the timer

i don't mind this segment of the quest and if the whole thing changed to be more interesting like this i would like it

this wasn't hard for me because i found it while messing around on beta but even then i think i would've found it pretty quickly

also this is a good change, now seavale reef won't clog your inventory with an item that you can't sell

 

that coral cave has been ingame for a while, it always seemed odd that it spawned everywhere and also in one tiny hidden cave

You know I went and did ToL yesterday and had no idea this was even a thing since I just brought over light dust I stored in my bank to skip segments

 

This is only a good change tbh. Makes the quest just a bit more interesting, and the mobs weren't that strong imo.

 

I didn't really have an issue with the changes, but they still came out of left field for me.
I think the only time I died during this quest was during the third horde battle when retrieving the light dust, but that was because the server decided to slowly commit die by lagging itself to a crawl while I get horded by mobs and my inputs were all delayed by 5 seconds.
I didn't know about the cave the coral was supposed to spawn in because I just found it everywhere around the reef and I usually keep one in my bank so I didn't have to go looking for it during the quest.

 

Similarly to Bob's Lost Soul, through a band-aid on a shit quest abd act like it has been "updated".

 

This wasn't advertised as a change on the changelogs anywhere that I'm aware of. We weren't parading this around as though it were the end-all be all grand Fixer Of Problems.

This section really isn't that difficult, either...

Additionally, regarding the Coral of Nelfors, it can spawn in eight different spots in the Reef. Still shouldn't be THAT difficult to find, and it clears out the rest of the reef from unnecessary item clogging, since you can't sell the Corals.

 

While I don't think this makes the quest worse, I still think it's just a band-aid on a quest that should be reworked in its entirety. That's why I hope for a Wynn Rework next update (though it's probably going to be Fruma)

 

Where in my post did I imply you advertised it?

All I'm saying is why is CT spending time adding pointless and ultimately tedious sections to infamously bad quests? The quest still sucks and adding an extra five minutes of playtime just feels like lip service to "improve" a quest that nobody likes, whether it was "advertised" or not. Just wait untill you acually update the quest and focus on tasks at hand.

 

You did it here.

We didn't act like it had been updated. We acted like a small part had been changed.

This is, outside of the few requests during beta to nerf it, the first time I've seen someone actively dislike the segment- feedback on it has been very positive.

 

You've completely missed my point but ok. Lets just leave this here.

 

Well if they had the time why not try improve a part of something, what's wrong with changing it? Just because it'll be updated doesn't mean they can't try to do some stuff while it hasn't been updated.
