My friend is a mage and cant heal, what happened?

He unlocked the "Heal" ability in the skill tree but when he uses it nothing happens. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Perhaps he went Arcanist and chose Arcane Transfer for an ability? That turns healing into a mana regeneration.

 

Arcane Transfer removes the mana cost of heal, but also changes its function. Your friend likely grabbed Arcane Transfer from the right side of the tree without realizing what it does (Read the abilities before you take them, people!)

 

even if he didn't take arcane transfer, the heal amount is still next to nothing, it's defo way less survivable being a mage
