Here’s a brief leak of one of the main features of our first release. You’ll probably know what I’m talking about if you’ve read Endistic’s update log on this post, but nonetheless here it is:



The Tale of the Stargazer King


Long ago, so very long ago, on a tower in a city much alike to this one, stood a king.

The king loved the stars.

Each night, weary from a day of ruling, the king would ascend the steps of his grand observatory, and beneath the great dome riddled with strange machines, gaze for hours at the myriad of stars above.

The king found solace in the stars, a sort of strange comfort that the chaotic and bickering material world far beneath could not offer. The stars, cold and distant as they may be, possessed an ethereal, unchanging beauty, and the king, watching longingly from his tower, began to envy them.

On many a night, the king would stare into the depths of the cosmic sea far above and whisper, almost hoping he might be answered.

“Grant me your strength,” he would ask the stars.

“Grant me your knowledge,” he begged the moon.

“Grant me your vision,” he requested the void.

And then, one night, alone in his observatory, he was answered.

Those who still remember that night speak of a great blue flame that streaked across the sky and fell, in a trail of molten sapphires, into the distant murky waters of Gylia.

The king was one of the first to witness the falling star, and that very night, he silently and abruptly vanished, leaving no traces of his presence behind. For the first time in years, his observatory would stand empty.
Over time, he was slowly forgotten, becoming a mere whisper, one greatly overshadowed by his lineage of heirs and predecessors.

And yet, on that same night, even so many years later, one can look up at the stars, glowing with a faint, pale light, and still recount the tale of Zyraex the Mad.

He pored over his notes once more.
“Come on, if you haven’t figured it out yet, one more restless night isn’t going to get you anywhere,” his colleague told him.
“I’m so close! There’s just… one missing piece…”
“Well then, waste a perfectly good chance at a decent night’s rest.”
His colleague left the tower, exhausted.
I’m sure I just missed something, he thought, I’ll go back and check again.
He left, and headed to the old, abandoned observatory. He’d never actually tried looking through the scope, somehow, always assuming it was broken down and useless. He looked on a whim, and saw a faraway green star.
Wait, he thought, stars aren’t green.
This might just be it.

“Is it ready, Gawrick?”
“It should be…”
“It’ll have to do.”

He wrote a note on his desk, detailing his studies, in case he should not return.
He didn’t.

Two years later…
“Huh.”
“What is it?”
“Weird.”
“What is it!”
“Well, it’s a piece of paper, but other than that, I’m not really sure.”
“I don’t know High Gavellian, you?”
“No… well, we should take this to Gylia Watch, right?”
“Gylia Watch? Those idiots? No, let’s just take it to that big old library in Cinfras, I bet the librarian knows High Gavellian.”

“It’s hard to piece together… something about looking for Zyraex?”
“Zyraex? You mean the crazy king with the observatory?”
“I’d assume so…”
“Well, what does it say?”
“It seems like… instructions to reach him.”

I agree but like, why is it so annoying to fight him

 

Just wait until all of his spells are done

If you’re talking about his short levitate cooldown, that’ll probably get lengthened by a decent amount later

 

I don't really mind levitation
what I really mind is that he teleports up every 10 seconds

 

yeah that's what I meant by levitate, we call player levitation gravitokinesis

 

cuz i suck at making a proper souble jump, and levitate still needs some cooldown adjustments

 

what if i make hspell real (real) on this project

can you make some cool hspell items i can add while i fix % spell cost shenanigans

Also if we’re having heavyspell we should also have tierspell and cancelspell (fast spell is just spellspam)

cancelspell might be an item w/ negative spell dmg % but tons of mana regen/steal or vice versa
no idea baout tspell
