I used to be very arachnophobic indeed, to the point of panicking at the sight of inanimate images of spiders. Then I discovered jumping spiders and they actually became my favourite animal... these species looked very unique so I read about them a lot, and eventually other spiders became as fascinating to me as the salticidaes, and today I can recognise most species of spiders and even pick some up.
