Hunted Mode - An Inherently Flawed Concept (ft. slight 2.0 updates)

    in 2.0 pvp will become even more imbalanced compared to now, as i said in the future of hunted section

    I'll give my suggestion here. This was taken from another game, but since it was well done and players appreciated it, I think it might be a good idea.

    It it some kind of bounty system where the players goes see a NPC who gives him a piece of paper stating who he has to hunt and where (approximately) he has to look for. When completing the hunt, the players goes back to the NPC, and the NPC rewards him with money (or some kind of currency) and XP. Obviously, you can only be given hunt around your own level, which would spice things up, esopecially in the lower levels, since you would be able to enjoy PVP experience and get XP at the same time, which would be great for players who don't wanna do quests or dungeons all the time.

    A hunt NPC could be added to every major city, therefore allowing players to take on a hunt (mini-PVP quest) between others activities. Obviously, it would be possible to reset the hunt and take another one after a cooldown if the player wasn't able to track down his prey or if his prey disconnected. There would obviously be some kind of toggle to allow players not to get hunted.


    Obviously, even this was implemented, balance in the damage formula would need to be done, especially for poison, but I truly think making PVP accessible at early level (around lvl 30)to be something really fun, since I'm pretty sure a lot of players would enjoy grind XP and getting rewards from doing hunts.

    The link Pvp has with a Hunter's calling quest would need to be deleted or changed to something else then.

    basically like a sheriff battle, u can either shoot first or get shot first, with the new crazy spells


    If ur open to my suggestions u could add them in ur post and give credit

    • hunted shouldnt show 'regular' hp, it should show ur ehp and such, full morph will say u have 14k hp but in ur ehp will be 60k so it should show as that, so even if u are under poison u have a chance to survive with the ehp bonus
    • every hunted player should have an outline maybe red
    • cci abilities like stun, blindness or aura trap should not work and should only be restricted to pve
    • hits should make the player flash red and their hp should clearly show above their nametag
    • Hunted Mode shouldnt work in dungeons and raids and such
    • Hunted Mode should drop more a player's emeralds than their items (and yes i know this can be worked around by not carrying emeralds, u can give suggestions to work around this)
    • Players in a party cant attack each other in hunted mode but can kill or be harmed by others (this would be super cool like a hunted gang killing other hunted gangs, i love this!)
    • Double the xp bonus (will def make hunted more viable)

    None of these fix the problems; I especially don’t see the point of player’s showing their HP or EHP when most of the time you get one shot anyway.

    These are improvements to the current system, these could fix a small party of the hunted problems, I cant fix a flawed concept (as said in the post)

    and you literally just say they fix nothing without giving me proof or reason for that, so why and how?

    edit: ive thought about this twice and ur right, they dont fix a lotta the problems with the current system, i have no major answers to fix the system without completely rehauling it the.
    The best we can do is hope the devs can change it but one thing is that we 100% need to nerf poison

    1. I can't wait for hunted revamp! As a 1.8 pvp enjoyer i only play Wynncraft because I like the pvp of it. The spells make pvp really strategical unless its poison lmfao
    2. The 60 second grace period is annoying make it like 10 seconds or shorter.

    Triflame, u can see the main discussion isnt about hunted mode, its about the need for a rehaul in the pvp system in wynncraft, you should add your own suggestions for the improvements to the system in ur post maybe mine and a few others or make another thread discussing this

    also u completely looked over my small improvements to the pvp system and thats making me sad, pls like my post :(

    that would make some builds unironically unkillable and that's counting agility
    ehhh, that would make matters too easy. removes the surprise factor, which is the main fun
    that would take away from the concept though
    party members already can't damage one another. besides, nobody would get hurt in a raid nor dungeon because of said party
    that would dig the problem deeper. it needs a reimagination not powercreep of existing concepts, as they are already flawed (i said it in the thread)

    Hunted mode is cool but whenever I play a permahunted class I never come across another permahunted player, I just play solo for like 90 levels with no pvp whatsoever. It would be cool if we had one or more hunted worlds, that would solve the WC hopping issue and would also make the game more interesting for the earlier levels of permahunted classes. Of course other problems would arise with this change but I think it'd make the mode more fun. Not sure how it would work for regular classes though..

    Change the bonus for using the hunted mode to be +10% loot quality and look people go crazy about it

    I agree with this but then what is the benifit of killing people other than the fun of it there needs to be an unfarmable reward for killing

    It’s the pvp that’s fun imo

    Endgame players will get bored, and hunted is a quick way to get some entertainment



    also what about a pvp area/zone in the SE where pvp is enabled (or it’s locked to hunted players)?
