You stand at the end of all things, in a place that seems to defy the very structure of reality itself.
The realm is beautiful in a dark, chaotic fashion, an alien, indescribable beauty existing beyond all forms of comprehension.
You see floating pillars of jet-black material that seem to coalesce from the void itself, collapsing and reforming before your very eyes. You see vast meadows of pale flowers that bloom, decay, and sprout anew within a matter of seconds.
You see great, majestic obsidian palaces atop jagged spires of Dernic stone, watching as they slowly crumble into the void.
At the very edges of your vision, you see shadowy, indescribable shapes flit across the distant horizon, the silhouettes of monstrosities in all form and shape. Occasionally, you even hear the distant, horrifying roars of even greater beings far beyond your sight, filling you with primal terror. Often, you feel watched, stared at by thousands of hidden eyes that you can never seem to locate.
You hear voices too, thousands of mocking whispers in strange languages, inescapable and taunting. Despite having never heard them before, you know what they speak of.
The answer slowly dawns on you.
You are truly insignificant here, in this broken world that seems to defy everything you know. Your actions have amounted to nothing. Truly, you are nothing mere than mere prey here.
Your journey has always been a lie, a pitiful mockery of the true scale of the War.
You stare into the dizzying abyss beneath, truly hopeless for the first time in your life.

WUH WOH. HERE WE GO.

We witness only what we are constructed to witness, and can comprehend not their absolute nature. Our perceptions are wholly few, and our convictions and observation is limitlessly restricted. Born of the Material, we profess and pretend that we grasp the illimitable warmth of peace, and the inexhaustible tract of War -- and even still it is naive to give constraints to the fathomless with words.
We are callow, adolescent and unfit for progeny. We speak of it, we write of it, but we do not digest it. Books whisper of it in cautious melody, but in all truthful expression, the act of skinning the calf for vellum to bind the tomes of it we read is greater a testament to Dern than any scripture. Unknown to anything we consider organic life, things which no ears could hear and no lips could dare utter.
Without bodily motion, they overleap all concept of dimension, and peer unto creation herself. They walk lands first vivid, later of a more horrible conception. Noisome, endless, horrible everything... yet tantamount to absolute solitude in infinity.
Even before your eyes were fit to see, you could be seen.

 

Welp, I can at least write discovery lore:

Fruma
Fruman Royal Gate
Aside from the Ragni Outskirts, this is the primary way to enter the province of Fruma. It is adorned with decadent statues depicting Fruma's might through the monarchy. However, while these gates show a grand empire, what's on the inside is far more depressing...

The Royal Palace
In the heart of Fruma lies a gilded temple to the monarchy. It was presumably founded on the remains of an opposing faction to the Frumus Clan(headcanon btw) to show the might of the monarchy. Within the great halls lies the queen, one of the most powerful magic-wielders known to mortals.

Dern
The Ruins
Deep inside the Darkness, lies a forgotten city known by almost nobody. The last of its original denizens were obliterated by the ruler of all darkness, and all who had ancestors originating here have all turned to lunacy. It's almost as if this is a monument to those who dare oppose this realm.

The End
The deepest point of the realm of Dern lies its emperor. It almost serves as the catalyst for the War of the Realms. What lies in here requires no turning back...

I was imagining that people would be like: dern might have a big raid and quests and fruma will have raid and quests not masterpieces of creative writing

But am I literally the only one who keeps imagining that Fruma will be like Toussaint from the Witcher 3 game??? Idk why I have that feeling but I just do and I wouldn't complain. It's a great location in Witcher 3

Also Dern I just imagine Silent Expanse only even more cursed.

 

I think Fruma will look a lot like hyrule fields from the legend of zelda, but with more soldiers roaming around and more villages (maybe some ruined ones as well).

Also I would say Dern will look like the silent expanse mixed with the portal next to detlas. So it will look like dern but much more red and nether blocks and less purple and gray.

 

The portal near Detlas is Corruption. Dern is decidedly not corruption. I do imagine there will be a fair bit of reds though.

 

Oh i thought all of dern is a mix between corruption and the SE

 

I cannot believe I have spent a great portion of my day doing this. Though I don't particularly regret it much, it was pretty fun.
I haven't heavily checked or edited it, so please excuse any grammar or punctuation errors.

Corruption is chaos and war, and is the clash of Light and Dark. Dern is Dark, so Dern is part of Corruption, but as is Light.
Corruption is just death, basically. It's like a blanket of red that just kills everything. Dernic influence, on the other hand, does much worse than what death and undeath can offer.
