"A party of 4 jumps into a monstrous void hole that takes them somewhere unlike anywhere in Wynn. A twisted archipelago of Blue Jungle Islands in the middle of an endless Gray ocean. Your goal is only to escape and hopefully bring down whatever otherworldly creature is generating all these holes."

Raid takes place on the border between Toxic Wastes and Void Valley (Gateway to Nothing)

 

Almost feels like that territory name was planned out in advanced.
Not sure if it actually was but it’s very fitting.

 

If I'm right that the dungeon boss is the same species as black sans, it might explain why black sans can make you see alternate realities. Maybe they both represent time and space (black sans showing alternate timelines, black gregpyrus opening portals to different areas of space)

They do share a lot of similarities, though. Unnamed, floating black skeletal torsos, seemingly very powerful. If they are the same type of Dernling/Dernian/whatever you want to call them, what makes the raid boss different from the NPC?
Clearly, there are some pretty big differences. Namely, one is really big and hostile, and one is mildly helpful.

I will say, they remind me of those ROL guys. Heliolux or whatever. Chestplate and head. Could be that the floating skeletal torso is kind of the generic Dernic NPC, and the boss of TNA is just jacked as all hell

 

nice so i was right, this is going to be taking place in a completely separate plane from anything we’ve seen before story wise

Doesn't say that at all. The discovery lore just says
"There is a puncture here in the Void that nobody knows about and in the hole theres a guy who makes void holes"

Theres two in Toxic Wastes, and then theres Iritack holes in Olmic Ruins. But who knows, there might be more to SE that you just cant access where theres more void holes.

 

i mean im not gonna argue with someone who’s actually making the update, but what i got is “hey these are holes in reality that take you to some weird stuff unlike anything in wynn” seems to heavily imply this takes place somewhere not in the main plane of existence, kinda like rol

we’ve seen gray oceans before, most notably in the undergrowth ruins quest, and i think most of not all of them take place in another realm or plane (eg slykaar making like a pocket dimension or whatever it was), another reason i choose to believe this raid takes place in a unique dimension- although, maybe it has connections to some gray ocean type dimensions from before, i guess that’s also possible

fair enough, i should revise my statement- this is an area which we haven't seen solid gameplay in, like we did for say rol, the alternate universe (i think?) of the forgery, or even the nether prior to its removal. thanks for the clarification!
