What do you think will be 2.1 ?

Yeah, I know, 2.0 changelog is not even revealed and I'm still starting a discussion about the update coming after... Take this as a waiting room ;)

So, there are the classic answer "Fruma" and "Dern" but I thought about something else.
I think that 2.1 could be a "Storyline update".

Why ?

First, 2.0 introduce a new story mode for Galleon's Graveyard so in 2.1 this mode could be extended to other dungeons with some dungeons being improved.

Secondly, with Gavel having two major storyline with "The Realm of Light" and "Dwarves and Doguns" + smaller storylines with "An Iron Heart", "The hunger of Gerts" and "Aldorei's secret", Wynn (not counting the Silent Expense) only has the "Wynn's Excavation" storyline.
The player adventure in Wynn don't feel as complete as in Gavel and lack of story telling.

Thirdly, even with Wynn main lore turning around Corruption and its catastrophic impact on the province, there is no quest where you help people fighting it, where you have an impact on it, where you see corruption really being a danger (dungeons don't count and for Recover the past this is only a minor part).
Corruption don't really seems to be a major problem through your adventure in the province as you are constantly doing other things and practically not involved in its war.
The Nether portal is purely abandoned, you don't even get a message when you try to enter it and the whole zone don't seems dangerous at all.

Lastly, you first encounter Baka'l in a quest only at the end of the Realm Of Light questline which starts in Gavel when it is THE major character and vilain of the Corruption war.


Having a more impactful and storyline in Wynn is a major and old suggestion that would fit with what has been done with Gavel, would fit with the ambition of Wynncraft to be more and more MMORPG-like, would improve the experience of new players and would possibly offer endgame content (so the update is not just a rework one) by opening the Nether to high-level player.

And you, what do you think will come in 2.1 ?

 

I think 2.1 will come with a host of back-end changes that will make it easier for the cow man to push out crate events.

 

I really think that a dungeon and ocean based update could be in 2.1.

There's a few dungeons that need an overhaul (CLS, CUC), plus the new dungeon modifiers will surely come to all dungeons.
On top of this, there's just too many dungeon related items... Fragments, main rewards, keys, (for normal AND corrupted dungeons) plus broken keys, forgery chains and blood melanges.

The ocean could do with some discoveries and some more interesting terrain (I'm not saying to make it super in-depth), just not flat. The ocean currently feels like a place to avoid, and I'd love it if that changed.

 

Probably Dern or Fruma.

 

Plausible, but unlikely that it'd be so soon. I'd guess we'd get a new area in 2.1 and then in 2.2 or maybe 2.3 something like this with streamlining quests and lore

Jungle / ocean discoveries?

 

Theres the lava springs quest, maybe more like it could come.

 

i think disappointment comes with 2.1

 

I thought about an Ocean update but I feel like it would be too small of an update (in comparison of 1.20 and 2.0) but maybe I'm wrong or maybe they are going to do smaller updates in the future.

I hope we will get at least the Jungle secrets discoveries in 2.0 ^^

Morbius Update

 

I think it'll be Dern. Might also be Fruma.

Why? This update (2.0) probably focuses on spells and coding, not so much on new areas. This gives the building department of the CT more time to build on a new province/area.

Dern is more likely than Fruma because the CT focussed on Dern related content for the 3 last updates (directly or indirectly).

-The Silence Expanse (obviously; Dern portal)
-Gavel Update (Realm of Light questline compleately redone, Light beast -> has to do with the overall Light/Dark story)
-Spellbound Update (The new Silent Expanse Raid)

Dern might be next

 

Wynncraft goes nuclear.

 

Dern would logically be the end of the game.

Fruma is more likely. Dern is a 2nd dimension in which the Dern Beast, your ultimate goal, resides. Fruma is the (assumed) last area of the overworld map.

 

Yea thats true. But Wynn doesn't look like a game that is going to end anytime soon.

If Dern ever gets released it wont end Wynncraft. New areas will be added if people still play the game. So I don't see any good in waiting until it's too late.

This doesn't mean that I disagree with your thought tho

 

Two more years- two more years until I mentally break down after two Fruma-less years. I repeat; if Fruma isn't an assemble, physical location on the map in two years, I'm leaving this game and never looking back.
In other words, there's my vote. Dern can wait.

And I'll also add that this doesn't seem entirely plausible or necessary in my mind, but that's just me. And I'm too lazy to explain why because I'll just end up with yet another monologue.
